I was mostly referring to the combat. Action points are gone and replaced by a system where each character gets 1 action and 1 bonus action per turn along with some movement. Spells are balanced by needing charges which you have only a few of (at the beginning at least) and some need to be recharged by resting at your camp between uses. I like some of the generic bonus actions that give you more options (jumping, shoving, etc.) but overall I prefer the old system.

It's not really an old vs new system. You're describing original sins rule set vs Dungeons and Dragons. If someone likes DnD, this is great. It's not as deep as Pathfinder, but it's really enjoyable.

Oh I think I remember reading about the rest mechanic, which I am not a fan of. The AP mechanic in DOS2 was great. The rest mechanic in Pathfinder WOTR and Solasta is just not fun, IMO. I understand it's part of the ruleset, and I grew up playing TTRPGs faithful to the rulesets, but in a cRPG, I just find it annoying.

I'm sure I'll get used to it though.. everything I've read about BG3 is that it's an amazing achievement.

Finished the current early access build of Satisfactory. Can't say enough positive things about this game, truly outstanding and a joy to play. Took me 190 hours to finish the early access version. The final 1.0 release, due sometime this spring, is adding another tier of factory technology and end game challenges.

Can’t wait to play again when 1.0 releases.

10/10 from me.

The factories I built were sprawling, Lots of logistics to optimize (usually poorly). Some pictures of the multiple factories I had running at the end of my game.

Main factory on left, along with elevated train station, and three different mine/smelter complexes to the right.

Still making my way through Elden Ring. Its already the 2nd best game ive ever played, its absolutely incredible.

Was going with a Faith/ Dex build but i just switched it up to an Arcane/ Faith build today.

If you like Yakuza the latest Kiryu game came out yesterday / today. I don't often purchase day of but this one seems to be leading up to the big LAD game next year and should be good entertainment to pass the time.

Personally I found that at least 2 of those bosses couldn't be beat without summoning for help, which was already difficult enough as is. I mean the game is okay but frustratingly difficult. I managed to make it to the last continent where that big giant got me, and turns out I have to
kill the kind spirit that's been helping me this whole time
at that point I nope'd out

I've heard a lot of great things about this game. Not really my style so I won't be playing it myself, but it seems like an awesome game.

Every year around Rememberance/Veteran Day, I play some Battlefield 1 and God they nailed the atmosphere of the Great War. Gunplay is snappy and I love the way it's harder to ply with old weapons with longer reload time. War stories are written really well. I wish there was more WWI games.

Diablo 4 Season 2

Bug improvement over season 1. The new Vampire powers are fun, but the real winners are the new world bosses. Just the right level of difficulty to require intelligent build-crafting and strong play. Plus they let you farm uber-uniques, which was a much needed add. My go-to game to play with a hockey game on in the background.

Mortal Kombat 1

I suck at this game, but I am determined to git gud with my boy Reptile.

Street Fighter 6

What can I say? Best Street Fighter since 3rd Strike easy. I was a Ken main before the game, but now everybody seems to main Ken, so I'm learning Luke, and it's fun to just have so much to dive into with this new character. Yeah, he's a little douchey... but I kinda like that about him.

Halo Infinite Season 5

Halo Infinite is the best arena shooter of this generation, and it's not close. You got your sweaty arena play, your over-the-top BTB play, your silly Forge creations, and at the heart of it is that sweet, smooth core gameplay. If there's a sweeter feeling in shooters that seeing that 'Perfect' medal pop, I don't know it.

CyberPunk Phantom Legacy

Kind of a cheat, cause I haven't played it yet. I've restarted the game with a new character to enjoy all the systems changes before diving into the new content. Still an amazing game, and an even better redemption story.

Spiderman 2, It's a great game, but that shouldn't be a surprise because insomniac is the best in the world at what they do.

That being said I am having trouble with getting part 2 of The Flame side quest to trigger.

I've loved Insominac games since Spyro, but they have made neither the best superhero games (Arkham series), nor the best open-world games (GTA). I'm not sure they're the best at anything so much as reliable solid in every facet of game design and execution.

I am 3 in-game days into Disco Elysium. I'm enjoying it, but the lack of gameplay fatigue that I knew was coming is starting to take hold. Made worse by the early Black Friday deals I bought with Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 2, God of War Ragnarok, Nier: Automata, and A Plague Tale: Requiem (to a lesser extent).

Bought Red Dead Redemption Remaster on PS5, it was 20% off, so I paid 40€ (34€ since I bough cheaper PSN vouchers). I know, 13 year old game, too expensive but it is my favorite game of all time. I 100%ed it a few times (my record was around 13 hours according to the ingame clock) and I am absolutely hooked to do it again. Wouldn't have bought it without the 60fps update though.

The first half of Dark Souls 1 is brilliant. Some of the best map design I’ve ever experienced; without spoiling anything, you’re going to have so many “aha” moments in the first half. It’s chefs kiss design.

That isn’t to say the second half isn’t as great, just not as connected.

One of my favourite games of all time.

Mostly just play games to entertain my son as of late. The three recent most commonly played games are F Zero 99, the original Legend of Zelda, and still Curious Expedition. He's really into watching all three.

I've had Hollow Knight in my library for a long time and recently found the desire to give it a go. I'm 30+ hours into it and it's a lot of fun. I'd highly recommend it. It's fairly straightforward and challenging at the same time with a lot of things to explore.

Yup, 10/10 game. Nice work!

This was my original after early game power plant.

I then designed a turbo fuel power tower that I spent way too much time getting to work properly. This is my first iteration, I cleaned up the second tower and made it much higher but didn't take a picture of it.

It turned out to be totally useless after switching to nuclear. Was still fun though.

I dabbled in some mods(Satisfactory mod manager) for a bit and then put the game down for now, can't wait to get back to it eventually. :)

Spent the entire day waiting for MSFS to download, I played quite a bit when it launched during covid but then went on to other things. Did some cleaning and found an Airbus joystick that I purchased and never really used.

This is what happens when you forget to put down the landing gear. Not quite realistic cause I probably should have died. Checklists are important.

Started Hogwarts Legacy on PC. Got a good deal on it during the Steam Fall Sale. About 3 hours in and enjoying it. I will say, playing 1440p Ultra with RT on (I've changed settings since) it's legit the first game to bottleneck my CPU (Hogsmeade) since I built my PC last year.
