Home after a surprising come from behind ot win.

Ullmark a wall in net, the pk unreal all night- especially during the five minute major, what was probably Zacha's best game of the year, good Charlie with another strong net rush for a goal ..add it together and just enough to win.

on the minus side bad Charley's match penalty ( and likely suspension), Coyle fighting the puck, Jake looking less than engaged and a number of forward looking slow and tentative about making plays

so far, in what the press has called an early season three game " test" of Detroit- Florida- Toronto the Bs are 2-0 ; and with two D likely out and the Leafs hill just got steeper.

all that said - keep piling up those early season points!

Would anyone consider an Evander Kane for Jake Debrusk swap right now? Heinen takes over Jake's PK responsibilities and Kane is as good/better of goal scorer than Jake. Kane also adds that element of nasty to play against. that we lack in the top 6. They'd either have to retain on Kane or we'd have to add to make the cap work.

I get the past crap about Kane but it's not like Jake doesn't come with some baggage. Requested a trade, late for team meeting, looks uninterested in 95% of the games this season. Kane just gives me Neely/Horton/Iginla vibes where the guy was born to be a Bruin. Realistically....Kane is not going to disrespect that locker room with #17 in there.

You're are going to get roasted proposing this. If Kane was 3 years younger, I might think about it. Its hard to believe but #74 I is going to be 27, no kid for certain.

Kane is nastier to play with than against. He has the Iginla vibe in the sense that he will never win.

watched the first period...reminded me of last years playoffs...made me sad....during the 2nd period the wife and I watched season 3's last episode of The Morning Show during ...seeing Jennifer Anniston reminded me of Matthew Perry...made me sad again....checked the score during the show and saw Brad scored...made me happy....turned it back on for the 3rd...that Chucky goal was super sweet highlight stuff...made me happier ....then Chucky head hunts OEL in the paint ...made me sad again because it wasn't Tkachuk he hit .....killing the 5 minute major again made me happy .... then Zacha's OT snipe made me super happy .....

Lesson learned ....this season is going to be roller coaster of emotion

Had to chuckle at the end of the game at how badly the B's fleeced the Devils in the Zacha deal. Evolved on some bad Devils teams and they essentially gave up on a high 1st rounder. Great find, great steal.

Not really. The Devils offloaded an underperforming player and got a good 3C in return who can move up the lines in a pinch and is playing well for them. A franchise that had also drafted Hughes, Hischier and Bratt had no particular need of Zacha, and cutting him loose and freeing up a little cap space in the process has helped them land Meier and Toffoli, who already have 17 points between them to start the season. The NJ roster is stacked and I doubt they miss Pavel at all.

But he's a very good get for the Bruins, especially with the great value contract he signed. Sometimes trades are win-win. This was one of them.

I’m in Texas and we watch out of town broadcasts except for in between periods - love Jack but he should not be doing this unless he has emails or dirt on who makes the decisions

It’s also possible JJ who’s watching in Buffalo is sympathetic and likes Jack and it’s his team and station - that to me has to be it

Monty mixed up the lines so much in this game that Natural Stat Trick recorded 7 different combinations who spent meaningful 5v5 time on the ice together. The best line was undoubtedly Poitras centering Zacha and Pasta. They didn't completely dominate, but in a game where the 1st period was awful and the 3rd saw the Bruins spent a lot of time short-handed and then undermanned, a 7-3 shot count, 59 CF% and 3 high danger chances to 1 are good going, all topped by McAvoy's goal. And all that despite Poitras getting destroyed on the dot. Apart from that and his unfortunate error on the Panthers' 2nd goal, which are standard rookie issues, the kid came up big again. Not sure that line is something we'll see long-term, because I don't think the resulting implication of leaving Coyle and Geekie as the 2 & 3Cs is sustainable, but it was good to see them do well here.

The other lines did ok. Coyle, DeBrusk and Marchand struggled to generate much offense but they did score on one of their few real chances and didn't concede, so that's a fine result all the same. JVR, Geekie and Frederic feels like a bit of an unusual mix, but they actually performed pretty well. 5 high danger chances to 1, just couldn't bury any. As an experiment, it may warrant a further look.

Some big minutes for the defenders. 24 mins each for Carlo and Forbort, 28 for Lindholm. Say what you will about some of his indifferent performances so far this year, but the guy's a workhorse and can carry a lot of responsibility. He did the job in this one.

Another game where the Bruins fought through some tough moments to bag a win. Another game where they probably shouldn't have. Different scenarios continue to present themselves, and they continue to deliver in almost all of them. The will to win and the ability to keep finding a way are strong in this group.
