I'll take it, the call was a definite **** up though. Was I pissed at the time? Yup, but it is what it is.

Cushioning the blow is the 136 point pace this team is on having played maybe 2 good games out of 9 with key players out and no cap space to think of.

From Sutter's post game , the World Series Sutter

Darryl Sutter, on whether the call on the ice was correct:
They have the right to review it, so whether it was or not, it doesn’t matter whether I think if it’s correct or not correct. It really has no bearing on anything. He was safe at third and he was out at home.

“Unless the puck’s in before there’s contact, it shouldn’t be a goal,†he said.

The Kings are just out of sync, other than the 70's and Quick.

Gaborik has been out and hurt when he was in, Kopitar is hibernating early, Muzzin has been out and not 100% when he's been in, obviously Voynov, plus McNabb as a young defenseman, Brown and Williams have a combined 3 points, etc.

It is October, too many shots against though, not really impressive in any of the games(not sure you can count that Edmonton game), and the Kings have played almost an extra full NHL season in playoff games in the last 3 years, but every point in the standings buys them time to figure things out.

Finally got to watch the highlights. I don't see how the refs overturn that call. Looks like the close official saw the whole play and the others from center ice wanted a conference and to look upstairs.

Just look at the whole play at full speed. Quick may have been moving back, but he gets an extra boost from contact into the net no matter how Toronto wants to argue it.

And this is why Quick is so great in the playoffs...he has the right attitude, hates losing more than he likes winning.

Form LA KIngs insider post game

Quick, on any satisfaction over earning a point given the circumstances of the game:
No, you play to get two. We didn’t get two.

One more thing...if Quick continues to play like this, the Kings are going to play. Far more home games in May and June than they're used to.

Yup, I have no issues with this season thus far. Seeing as this team the past few years has made it a point to struggle out of the gate, seeing us succeed despite knowing we can play better is nice.

Also, it ain't half bad not having to stay up till 12:30-1 to watch a game finish. ;)

Sure sucks only getting to listen to the last few minutes on the radio in the car on the way home from work though :(

Ref calling no goal and then going to video review and saying, the puck crossed the goal line before the contact wasn't even close to be true. Overhead view showed this to be just a blown call. Then another angle looked as if maybe the puck was kicked in. Oh well got the point.

He put it off JO's right leg pad (quick down butterfly)
Quick had been dropping back in his crease, so he was sliding.

Angle kinda cuts it off, but stick foot or other from flyer dragged it off of the right leg pad and put it in behind JQ's left thighrise (against his knee, behind the pad) where it stayed.

Guy contact JQ's left legpad. Quick was all ready sliding back, but was spun towards his left putting left leg a little farther back and speeding up quicks slide.

Quick continued backwards CLEARLY crossing the goal line after contact, with puck still hung up in knee.

Ref called no goal immediately. In Ref huddle they changed the on ice call to goal, then determined contact was made after the puck crossed the line.

Quick MAY have dragged it back anyways, From what I saw it would have ended on his right leg pad, possibly dead on ice or in front of quick had it not been crashed into and pushed into his kneepad area.

(and someone will have a gif up before I hit submit reply  )

IMO clearly bad call. COULD have still coasted back with JQ, but was DEFINITELY pushed back with him. Oh well, with that short of a bench I'll take a point and no injuries. Bring on the Weal now that we got emergency call up moneys.

Thanks.

King lead all forwards in icetime, let that sink in for a second...and was a -2.
Doughty played close to 30 min tonight too.

I don't like this at all.

How cute.

King had a good game. Dumb plays by multiple defensemen are not his fault.

I ****ing love Quick so much. I hope Schenn and Simmonds have fun playing for the Cup in NHL15 this spring. I wonder if they'll giggle like schoolgirls after that too.

I would love to see the Kings play the Flyers in the Stanley Cup Final, but they aren't even close yet.

It's not about the Kings. Yes, Muzzin caused it. It's about the refing in this league. It's about Toronto.
I am happy with the Kings. I grow more and more frustrated with the officiating.

Not sure why you or Quick are mad. It was clearly a good goal.

I don't know about 'clearly.' I'm not mad about it, but it's a questionable call, certainly not clear as day. Can make a reasonable argument either way and agree to disagree really.

There is no way the contact caused Quick to slide over the line IMO. He was barely touched.

No one hates the Flyers more than me so if I think it was good, well....

Take the point and move on.
