I think if Pastranak scores on his break away chance in regulation, the outcome of the game would have been different. You have to put the puck in the net when you get a chance like that, I think that missed opportunity came back to haunt the bruins.
Just get one point vs Washington and we will meet these senators in the playoffs, the team I would want to play not Washington or the Leafs anyway.

Last few minutes of the game, and overtime. Why the hell were the Bruins trying to kill the clock?

Nonchalance, apathy? I don't know. But 15 seconds left, at your own blue line and you start skating it towards Rask? Then ice it?

What the hell.

No urgency, home ice advantage on the line. That's a little disturbing.

I'm glad we are in the playoffs, and that game was more or less a throw away game... but disheartening that we gave a team we are in direct competition with a lead for home ice advantage.

Otherwise, boring game. Hope Krug is ok... Backes should have just fought Phaneuf. If they were going to lose anyways. Send a message now. Oh well, too late.

felt the last 40 minutes was played at half speed, the urgency and crispness I saw in the first completely disappeared

Ottawa has 2 games left.

We gave them a direct advantage to get home ice advantage AND hurt ourselves.

Oh well. We are in the playoffs. Hope they care more about that once they are actually playing those games.

I do as they clinch 2nd or 3rd in the division with a win.

It's not a back-to-back and he will have 4-6 days of rest before next game. No brainer.

If Ottawa is the other seed in 2/3, I'd much rather play Washington. If we lose, at least the games will be more exciting...

Also, I see the Bruins better as the David beating the Goliath (Washington), than being lulled out of our mind playing the Senators.

I don't care about the dull part about playing Ottawa. What I want is the Bruins to win and advance and Ottawa is the worst team in the playoffs while Washington is the favourite to win the Cup.

Easy choice to me. Give me Ottawa any day over Washington.

And for the exciting factor, you will be able to get it in round 2 and maybe beyond if they start against Ott, something that will likely not happen if they start against Wsh.

Wanting to face Wsh is pure madness. Unless you just want to Watch 4-7 games and have other things to do than Watch your team still in the playoffs in May?

I don`t find it remotely exciting watching a team who can skate like the wind with speed to burn and skill on all 4 lines exposing a slow D

That loss yesterday and the other 3 against Ottawa have really affected our fans it seems...

Wanting to face Wsh instead of Ott? Really?

Ott is the easiest possible matchup in round 1. Give me that any day.

Insanity. Now, if the B`s were to win a round or whatever to face the Caps as the playoffs went deeper then THAT would be ok, because as we all know, the Caps and Sharkies are fantastic candidates for playoff disappointments:laugh:

This Caps team, IMO, is a now or never team

UFA- Oshie/Winnik/Williams/Alzner and Shattenkirk

RFA- Kuznetsov, Burakovsky and Connolly, Orlov

How about if we don't win against either team? How do you feel? We've literally received the same amount of points out of games with Ottawa than we have Washington this season, despite playing Ottawa many more times. In terms of entertainment value, I'll go with playing the Caps than being frustrated by the Sens. Just my opinion, as a fan of watching hockey.

Remember when the Bruins were the favorites to win series and they... didn't? Upsets happen. There's A LOT of pressure in Washington to finally do it.

I want to win. I'd like to win. If Washington is as much of a favorite as everything says, if the Bruins go anywhere, they'll need to play them anyways.

If Bos has to play Wsh, be it in the ECF.

Choosing Wsh over Ott for round 1 is insane for many reasons:

1. Wsh is the favourite to win the Cup. Ottawa is the worst team in the playoffs.

2. If the huge upset happen and you beat Wsh, you start on the road against Pit/Clb in round 2 instead of a home series against NYR or against a not so good Habs team if you beat Ott.

In the end, Ott has stolen the Bruins playoffs spot with their Humburglar madness two years agao. They ended Bruins hope last year. I want revenge. And this is the easiest bracket to the ECF. If Wsh still stand up, then I will happily play them. But choosing them in round 1 over Ottawa? Really?

I want them to win. So if they win, this whole conversation is moot.

If they lose, I'd much rather lose to the better, more entertaining Capitals than the boring, less skilled team in the Senators. Hypothetical philosophy, Lose to the Winner? Or Lose to a Loser?

If THEY want to play the Senators and not the Caps, they sure didn't show it last game.
