whats baffling to me is how many cheap shots go uncalled and un-responded to all night and Ottawa knows this.

Phaneuf gets his stick right up in Krecji (area) then proceeds to give him a face wash with 0 call or response.

Borveski runs over Krecji without the puck and nothing

Borveski slams Pasta into the post nowhere near the puck.

Zingels chases down Moore and gets a 4 on 4 (remember playing Montreal and this happening and being short handed all the time) seems Bruins have been neutered yet still don't get the calls.

Really looked like Boston got pushed around tonight and had 0 fight back (just hoping it was because we were playing with 5 D and Mcquaid and Miller took some #s

I`m sorry, maybe I`m greedy/selfish after having the B`s wrap up their first playoff appearance in 3 years but man did that game leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Sens missing their best players and others

Home ice advantage potentially on the line

And our boys put up a 20 minute effort? Sorry, disgusting. I get the Sens play the most boring trapping game but the B`s came out in the first with a purpose then allowed the Sens to do what they do with no answer

Only a Boucher coached team can make 3 on 3 hockey feel like a funeral

Bruins better find a way quick to solve this OTT team or it be a quick exit out of the playoffs

Krug Morrow C Miller would help solve Scarface's neutral zone trap. A dman needs to rush the puck up and force the Sens forwards to make a play on it, leaving at least one of three Bruin forwards available to get open for a pass

Krug is on crutches

Morrow & C Miller are wearing suits

Not good

Krug and Ottawa I'm going 6 Bruins

No Krug toss up

I don't care about this not beating them they are the worst team of 16 in playoffs

Worst worst worst worst

I think we were 4-0 vs Carolina in 2008-09.

ugh. dont remind me of that one.

Playoffs are obviously a different story.

We probably win yesterday with just marchand in there.

And why are we only getting 1 power play a game lately???

They are the worst, but Anderson is a really good goalie, and with their system they are tough with him in net. We need to draw more calls against them. Our power play is deadly right now

I wouldn't be excited if inserting a Morrow/ C Miller into the lineup however I'm not confident in a blue line with Chara Carlo McQuaid K Miller sans any puck moving dmen. That's one too many one dimensional stay at home dmen.

Agree 100%, this is an area that needs to be addressed in the off season. A forward besides Backes willing and able to drop his gloves and fight for his team. While adding a JFK, Bjork, Senyshyn and/or DeBrusk next season is great and may help the offense you need to have somebody willing to still play it tough up front.

While I understand, and disagree, with the new philosophy of the NHL fighting and hitting aren't banned yet. Adding a group of smaller forwards next year needs to be countered with someone with size and toughness who can play ten minutes a night and keep up with the current speed of the game. Even if he only fights 7-10 times a year the push back is needed for games like last night.

After sitting on the sideline for four games with an upper-body injury, Frank Vatrano stepped back into the Bruins lineup Thursday night against the Senators, taking the suspended Brad Marchand’s slot on the first line with Patrice Bergeron and David Backes.

Bursting with energy, Vatrano had five shots in the first period, a third of the team’s 15-shot total. With the Bruins ahead on Drew Stafford’s power-play wraparound goal, Vatrano repeatedly homed in on Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson

And as the look of the game changed, Vatrano got fewer looks at the net.

“I thought my energy was good off the start,’’ Vatrano said. “I know that team likes to sit back, so for us, we tried to create offense behind them and that’s what I tried to do from the start. It slipped away from us a bit in the second but I think we started to get it back more toward the third.

“It’s obviously a tough team to play against, I think if we keep momentum going forward it would have been a more successful game for us.’’

That game wasn't worth the hangover and sleep deprivation I'm facing today.

Or, is that game the cause of my hangover and sleep deprivation?

Chicken or the egg, kids, chicken or the egg.

The first was a great period and the Sens threw their blanket out and sucked the life out of the game. Boucher is Claude light kinda coach.

In the end Anderson was the difference maker especially on Frankie V's grade A chances. Sucks that not only did the winning streak had to end especially given the opponent and what's on the line. Not going to bust anyone's chops over it ending.

What looked like a very routine play for Krug obviously was not. A big big X factor at this point. Hope it is minor and has no lingering effects.

Cassidy will have to show his metal in figuring out how to handle the Sens should they be the first round opponent. A seven game series is a much different beast that a one off game. Bring it on!

I remember the game when Philly stopped playing against the Bolts when Boucher was their coach - doing the same trap game then. I guess that's all he's got.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWaHqp-vWBo

If memory serves me right, did Ref not blow this down and force a faceoff in Flyers end?

if so, doesn't make sense to me although I wouldn't mind the Bruins doing this once at the start of a game to see what happens if worse case scenario is Bergy takes a defensive zone faceoff.

Would throw a big %^&* to Sens and their fans

It seems like they NHL needs to inquire on where officials grew up and their fave teams etc. but I don't know how they'd fix this. It's obvious that these refs etc are offication to the laundry and not the truth. Remember when Rooney reffed and threw all the calls against the B's to prove that he could be "fair?" He ended up killing them! I say bring in refs from
China!! :sarcasm: Maybe THAT'S why JJ sent a group of B's there last summer!;)

That game **** didn't it!?!?! We could've written the script here it's so predictable.
