I like the Bruins, maybe not after the 1st round if we play you guys, but the B's play solid hockey and I don't hate any player on your team. Montreal however...... Sens Vs. Bs in the playoffs will be a lot more exciting than some of you might think. The energy, speed and atmosphere will make the game pretty fun.

So let me get this straight: our playoff-options are down to pest (juggernaut Caps team who happens to have our number) or Cholera (boring Ottawa team who happens to have our number)?

Saw that this was the first OT/shootout loss since that awful game against Detroit in mid January. My summary of this game would be very similar. How is there no snooze smiley though??

First period: :handclap:

Second period:

Third period: :madfire:

Overtime: :banghead:

Shootout: :help:

Postgame: :dunno:

Meanwhile, a live shot of Brad Marchand: :pb:

Well, likewise. Always liked the Sens more than anyone else in our division (taking out the Scabs helped that for sure), but a playoff round probably won't help that a lot.
Good luck!

Nope

If Ottawa gets no more points and Bruins win their game and Toronto wins both of theirs then it would be

Sens vs Caps
Bruins vs Leafs

If we can all stay awake. I don't think I can handle at least four more games of that mess. At least Marchand will be playing, and maybe a couple new guys.

Krug going down tonight was a big factor and I know he left the Garden on crutches and went to MGH for a MRI. If the injury is serious they may have to revisit McAvoy's status and burn the year they don't wan't to do.

I hope for Krug's sake that it's not serious. It would have to be hard to finally make the playoffs again and then have to sit out. But it doesn't sound promising.

As a fan, I wouldn't mind seeing McAvoy now.

And then there's Joe Morrow, The Lost Boy. Kinda feel bad for him too. What a year.

Under Paul MacLean, I enjoyed watching the Senators and more often than not I was pulling for them. I'll never forget that series against the Habs.

And while I could say the same, that there isn't anyone on the Sens I hate (not even Phaneuf or Borowiecki), I'm just not entertained by the style of play under Guy Boucher.

Sure, tonight may have been an exception, since they have key injuries and they didn't want to endure the panic that has gripped Toronto.

But even with Tampa, it's just not the most entertaining brand of hockey.

I understand a coach plays the hand he is dealt, but I think there is enough talent on the Sens to open it up more (same with the Bolts).

Granted I don't see all their games, but the ones I have seen - especially the ones against Boston - have been on the boring side.

I will take the Sens over the Caps in the first round in a heartbeat. Why would I want to see the Caps maim and destroy us in 4 straight? I'll take boring hockey over a quick exit.

Marchand was missed and Krug getting injured so early in the game, playing with 5D didn't help. I refuse to panic about Krug until the story comes out.

Toronto losing to TB is huge. I believe they will have to get at least 3 points to bump us and if the B's win tomorrow, they can't bump us.

Washington should be resting tomorrow and salivating at getting Toronto in the first round after getting banged up by Philly last year in the first round. Of course, the Leafs may crash & burn too.

Boston has played great the last 7 games But to pull this rabbit out of the hat vs Ottawa in the playoffs they will need some young talent inserted to lineup to give the team a jolt Jimmy Hayes type players will not suffice.Bjork and McAvoy should draw in.please sign Bjork .lol

I think he'll go the other way actually. Ottawa is just going to sit and wait until you make a mistake. Very similar to the Habs series in 2014. Usually when that's a case, coaches don't throw young players out there who are likely to make one of those mistakes. I'd suspect he'll go veteran.

The loss of Krug was definitely felt. Marchand too of course.

Again, if we can't beat them minus their #1 and their #2, even down to 5D, there's something wrong. Because us minus Chara+Carlo right now would be an unmitigated disaster.

So many missed chances. Bz dominated the play for most of the first and second periods but could not finish. Would have been nice to have kept Ottawa from getting their playoff spot last night but onto the final game and the playoffs.

“It’s hard to play against,†Cassidy said of Ottawa’s system. “It’s not fun. Not that the game’s fun, but when you’re skating and handling the puck and you’re physical, those parts of the game are going up and you’re playing in all three zones, it’s more enjoyable for everybody. That’s their style of play. It works for them. We’ve got to find a way to get through it. It’s that simple. We’ll look at it. Should we bump into them next week, we’ll just have to find a better way. I still believe we did it in the first period. If you can extend the lead, it forces them to play a little more of the game we prefer to play.â€

“They’re trying to get a playoff position,†Cassidy said. “They’re playing to their strengths, defending the neutral zone with numbers. We clearly could have executed better. We tried to put some things in place. But they weren’t working. Not that it was coming back down our throats like it did in Ottawa a lot. But we ended up just icing the puck a lot. We just misfired. At the end of the day, if we’re cleaner there, we probably get a few more attack situations.â€
