Jovo can hook you up at a local Pizza Hut there. Not sure if they will have the game on, but he knows the manager I would bet...

Not only that, he keeps a database that documents the local subtleties of Pizza Huts from Medellin, Colombia, to Burnaby, British Columbia.

Yes, the ESPN crew made a passing mention of it coming back on air after the TV timeout. They also said that he got a warm ovation, immediately angering 95% of the citizenry here.

I found the NYRHFboards Georgiev tribute video...

I'll be in Disney for the next game, does anyone know a good place in the Orlando area to catch the game, or do I have to knock over a bunch of kids and their mickey mouse ears to get to a bar with a TV at the resort?

Nice flex

Disney Springs has some bars you can probably catch it. I think City Works is the big one

Kreider moping because he's not Captain?

you heard it here first
God, he's SO shy in interviews. I bet he was actually relieved when he wasn't announced as the Captain.

Honestly, having Trochek on the power play has changed things. I'd wager Kreider's numbers would end up lower at the end of the season even if he was in similar form, but I agree with what has been said: He looks hesitant and slow. Hopefully it's just a slow start....you know...for him and literally the whole team. lol

Last year the results were good but the underlying numbers were bad and everyone was freaking out, now it's the reverse and everyone's freaking out. Not calling anyone out either because I'm just as guilty as anyone. It's just tough watching them lose to three non-playoff teams already.
I hear ya.... expectations are astronomically higher this year than last year....and deservedly so. We know why we won last year, and there is absolutely no reason for any Ranger fan to apologize for having an all-world goalie lead us far.

The team isnt playing poorly, and the over-analyzation of every play/check/penalty/goal....etc. is expected from the usual suspects. We are certainly passionate....some seem to revel in the losses more than the wins (maybe its easier for them that way).

At this point last year we were 4-1-2, accumulating points in 6 of 7 games. This year we are 3-2-2, accumulating points in 5 of 7 games. I'm not ready to jump. And the results will get better....just breathe....

Just beat these f***s, i dont care how

4-2-2 10 points is a big swing from 3-3-2, 8 given how the start of the season has been. In the end the Isles will be in the mix, need to keep them down.

I get it, but the Avs lost to SEA and WPG, MIN is massively underperforming to start, and TB has been up and down too. This isn't unique to the Rangers. It's just the usual swings to the season before the good teams begin to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. If we're still middling at the end of November, then I'll probably start worrying.

For now, I'm just trying to take the promising trends and ride the storm - Chytil looked great before the injury, Panarin and Trocheck have been really good to start the year, and I've liked a lot about how Kakko/Laf and the top-4 defense has been playing. Igor looking like himself last night helped a bit too.

see, this has actually been me at various times. I had it on the radio (on my phone) waiting in line for a ride lol this past March, actually

new coach, who was Barry's assistant for 3 seasons in Nashville, and was his assistant when Washington won the cup. we're gonna see most of the same style from them.
if they are the same why didn't they just keep Trotz?

I'm sure there are many similarities but I don't think they are exact

Kreider just needs to simplify. He has the puck on his stick way too much. He needs to give it to his linemates and get to the net. He's never been a guy to create. His value is in his size, speed and hand/eye.
Exactly. Kreider is not a great stickhandler and turns out a pretty terrible passer. Takes him forever to decide where to pass to and then passes where the guy was rather than leading him (like a bad QB). He's elite on the power play, and turned into a defensively reliable forward and solid PK'er, but he may be a better fit for the third line at even strength. With Chytil out, would like to see them try the third line as a shutdown line and free up the Zibanejad line for more offense, rather than being matched up and pinned in their own zone against the other team's top line (like in the Colorado game or the Pitt series last year). Swap Kreider and Kravtsov and go with:

Kravtsov-Zibanejad-Kakko
Panarin-Trocheck-Laf
Kreider-Goodrow-Vesey
Blais-Carpenter-Reeves

So many people are on the edge of a cliff, yet the team is 4th in CF% and 10th in xGF% right now while vastly shooting below expectations. The good process/bad results hockey is frustrating, but they've thus far fixed a big chunk of their 5v5 play which was largely terrible last year. I think their overall pace is a bit off, and guys like Blais and Kravtsov are still getting used to the full NHL pace, but I'm not too worried about them.

I think they're largely going to be fine, but the day-to-day variance is gonna drive some of y'all crazy.
I liked winning and WGAF how better.

What has Kravtsov done to deserve first line minutes?

Can't believe nobodys talking about Panarin's sick full tucked jersey last night. That alone brought us back into the game.

Idk. This team IIRC didn't lose three in a row last year. Or did once in western Canada actually. Every season is different.

We're playing pretty well. Shooting a lot more and every player has had good moments. They're struggling to put it all together and to do it game over game.

An Islanders team on a three game losing streak of their own is a really tough draw on night two of a back to back. But Ive seen enough good things from the team this year to think that some early adversity could benefit them. We'll see.

He literally willed the team to an victory OTL.

A shift where he was hitting everyone and everything. Never seen him that engaged.

Nothing, but he's the best we've got right now and maybe he can get going with Zibanejad and Kakko. Can't be worse than Kreider has been at ES and Kreider-Goodrow-Vesey could be a really good defensively responsible 3rd line that could chip in offense occasionally while taking on the tough defensive matchups.

And that's totally fine and if that works for you, then so be it. All I'm trying to say is that the underlying trends for the team suggest they'll start turning it around. We heard all offseason how they were candidates for regression because of their bad 5v5 play, and so far, that doesn't appear to be the case. They'd essentially be historically unlucky shooting this season if this continues, and I highly doubt that's going to happen

This team doesn't have a ton of big-time shooters. And even the big shooters on the team sometimes doubt their own shots. That's partly why this team heavily relies on deception and theatricality for tap-in chances and goals. Zib and Panarin are the two guys who can score on straight shots, but 30% of Zib's effectiveness is taken away when everyone knows on the power play the puck is going to him for a shot attempt. Vatrano instantly became one of the team's best shooters when he got picked up at the deadline, and took his shot with him to free agency. They have to create their own shooting luck, imo.
