Fully expect whoever is in net for the Isles to put up a Vezina performance. Georgiev has been average, at best, for the Avs, yet plays out of his mind last night. Tarasov was a brick wall against us, yet last night, he was a sieve.

Yes, Kreider was bad last night, but, for the most part, the team played pretty well. Even the Hajek haters didn't have much to whine about.

Hajek was good last night, but Jones should have played especially since the Avs are a fast team. Jones is not awful defensively. Ive seen worse Tom Poti, Richard Linter, Boris Mironov, Dave Karpa, Sylvia’s Lefevbre etc

Sylvia's Lefebrve is matched only by Greg's de Vries --> de Vries --> of Vries --> ovaries

It’s crazy how bad we’re doing when Panarin may be even better than 19-20 Panarin lol

It's like he's doing this to spite the team. Good team, bad Panarin. Good Panarin, bad team.

Another L incoming. Wahlstrom moved to top line (finally) and he’s gonna score a couple almost definitely

A game time of 7:30 in NY....hey @NYRFANMANI .....what time does the game start in Belmont?

:sarcasm:

We're just 7 games in, but I'm loving the random shit that's becoming things/memes for the rest of the season already.

Anyone know a good place in the Turks & Caicos to catch the game? My airbnb villa here doesn't have U.S. networks on the telly, can you believe this crap?

Kreider has looked like doodoo all season so far. Tentative, not using his speed, hesitating with the puck. Basically how he's looked at any point in his career when he's slumping, although he does look a little extra disjointed this time - probably because he's such an egg head that he's even more in his head about it because of the pressure of trying to live up to last season, he's always been his own worst enemy in that regard. If he can get one to go I feel like he'll round back in to form.

Honestly, if they play tonight how they did last night in the 2nd and 3rd periods they will win.

Jones was pretty bad against Columbus. I'm sure its GG making him earn his spot. I'm not a hater of Jones at all. I just haven't seen enough to think the guy is a shoe in and can't be taken out of the line up.

I think he's mature enough now to not let it simmer in his brain. I have no expectations of him 5v5. Just production on the power play is all I'm hoping for. He's still getting his chances on the power play, so that's a good sign.

This team will eat us alive if we don't win board battles and get inside and get some dirty goals. I feel like rebound and deflection goals are one of the best predictors for how this team performs in a given game. When we play the way you need to to get those hard hat goals, we tend to be too much for the opposition with our talent.

Separately, team needs to continue working on puck management -- aka getting the puck in deep. not turning pucks over at blue lines.

FWIW -- Hajek wasn't horrific last night. Though that 3rd pair was heavily sheltered and barely sniffed the ice in the 3rd.

Kreider just needs to simplify. He has the puck on his stick way too much. He needs to give it to his linemates and get to the net. He's never been a guy to create. His value is in his size, speed and hand/eye.

So many people are on the edge of a cliff, yet the team is 4th in CF% and 10th in xGF% right now while vastly shooting below expectations. The good process/bad results hockey is frustrating, but they've thus far fixed a big chunk of their 5v5 play which was largely terrible last year. I think their overall pace is a bit off, and guys like Blais and Kravtsov are still getting used to the full NHL pace, but I'm not too worried about them.

I think they're largely going to be fine, but the day-to-day variance is gonna drive some of y'all crazy.

I'll be in Disney for the next game, does anyone know a good place in the Orlando area to catch the game, or do I have to knock over a bunch of kids and their mickey mouse ears to get to a bar with a TV at the resort?

Jovo can hook you up at a local Pizza Hut there. Not sure if they will have the game on, but he knows the manager I would bet...

Last year the results were good but the underlying numbers were bad and everyone was freaking out, now it's the reverse and everyone's freaking out. Not calling anyone out either because I'm just as guilty as anyone. It's just tough watching them lose to three non-playoff teams already.

Serious question: was there a video tribute for Georgiev yesterday and if so, is there a video ?
Yes, the ESPN crew made a passing mention of it coming back on air after the TV timeout. They also said that he got a warm ovation, immediately angering 95% of the citizenry here.
