I'll disagree with some ones here.
Marner, I see this tournament as a slight positive for him, he was invisible/bad in some games, but he got an OT winner and played great in the final game. I guess if you put 90% stock into the final game/one game, then his stock goes up, but I look at things holistically and as a whole he stayed the same for me. A very talented player that still has a lot to prove.
Matthews, I see this tournament as neutral for him, he didn't score but if he was playing hurt he still contributed and while a goal would be great still getting two assists, definitely do not see it as a negative.
Binnington, he played amazing in the final game and if that's all you care about, he was great. But his stock doesn't go up at all because great goalies need to sustain their play. Maybe he's the anti Helle, he can elevate his game when it matters most, but he's not gonna get you there. Whereas Helle can sustain excellent play but it can dip a bit-substantially at the most important times. Both are less than ideal, Binnington hasn't come close to replicating his rookie year hence the Blues doing nothing outside of that 50 game run and Helle has had some fantastic years but came apart when it mattered most.
Probably unpopular due to the last game where people will make 80% of their mind up, but it is what it is.
