I see why everybody was complaining about the penalty music. Holy shit is that annoying.
This is the strongest pool I've ever seen at the Juniors. This pool is so strong than anyone of these 5 teams in the relegation side seems unfair. I'd take any of these 5 teams to beat everyone in the other pool except Sweden and maybe Finland(it's close with Finland's injuries), but on a good day for Czechs or Germany they could beat both of those as well
Fasel recently said it very clear. The current Champions Hockey League is not a champions hockey league, but a competition of what I (Fasel) even do not know what it is ... if they want to be a true champions league, they should play with champions and RS winners, 10 to 12 teams, not like it is now.If you dont think my goalie argument is good then my point is total garbage.lol
However, goalies are REALLY important and they all come through the AHL. For instance, all 3 Czech NHL goalies went through the AHL to get there. When Askarov gets drafted Top 10 he'll go through the AHL as well.
Was Francouz good enough.. clearly he wasn't. 2 years later and he's a backup. No controversy there at all. I'm an avid Oiler's fan and if you can find an Oiler's fan anywhere thinking that 3 years, 12 million a NMC is a good contract, I'm all ears.
Even is Francouz was somehow wronged and shoudl've been in the NHL last year... that's 2 guys in 10 years. There are 62 goalies (or more) in the NHL every season.
The fact the AHL is played on NHL size ice is another advantage in its favour since the best players are in the NHL and that is every kids dream.
Having said that... I'm not a fan of AHL hockey, nor do I watch it very closely. If I was a pro hockey player and didn't think I could crack the NHL.. I'd much rather play in Europe then the AHL.
My entire argument is based on NHL being the best league with the best players.
Champion's league is actually shown on TSN and I tune in to watch the Czech teams. What I've noticed is pretty empty crowds, backup goalies and not the best players playing because it is midseason. That is a very small sample size of course and maybe the Champion's league is a huge deal but I noticed Kometa Brno last year was missing 2 or 3 top guys and playing their backup. Same with Mountfield the last game I saw. Also, it doesn't include KHL teams so I'm not sure how good a barometer of quality it is? It's an odd club tourney to me personally.
That's a bit of a dive IMO. He barely grazes the visor on the recoil. Maybe a penalty but you don't lose all strength in your body and go limp to the ice when that happens

Calling it now.. 4-1 coming up. Czechs have no one to blame.. I'd even say the awful reffing has benefitted us more than the German's.
He's drawing one penalty after another.. then gets up and skates like a demon. Best player in the game IMO.Stutzle is going to be prepared for the NHL physicality after this game, man he's getting demolished. Getting lots of PP out of it though
This is what the ignorant people said at the Helsinki WJC. Turned out Finland and Russia from the non-Canadian group went on to play for gold.
