This is what the ignorant people said at the Helsinki WJC. Turned out Finland and Russia from the non-Canadian group went on to play for gold.

Yeah I agree. Lets not get carried away. Finns have a star studded d and a quality kicker. Swedes are there with anyone.

The rest of that group is awful..below average Swiss and Slovak teams.

What did that take... 10 seconds? Notice it wasn't a wrist shot from the point but a forward in the slot? Imagine that... letting your forwards shoot the puck instead of your D wristing it.

I love it. Reminds me about old czechoslavakian movies in my childhood and fits hilariously well with taking a penalty.

Finland destroyed Germany and Sweden destroyed the Czechs just a week ago.

and Germany beat the Swiss twice. Like I said, 5 of the 7 best teams, there's a reason I excluded the 2 best ones from the other pool and said they could beat them, not that they would.

Ah nah man. It's the classic czech powerplay: pass it around until someone remembers to shoot when time is almost up. Full marks for consistency though

Which is the entire argument. No one is saying that Sweden/Finland aren't gold medal contenders.. but everyone is saying that the bottom 3 in our pool are stronger than the bottom 3 in their pool...

Bottom 3 in other pool - Slovakia, Kazakhs and Swiss
Bottom 3 in this pool - Czechs, Germans and pick one of Canada/Russia/US
