Germans are legit this year. Just goes to show you how stacked group B is this year.
I don't wish it to Varada or players, its not their fault, but there is still possibility we end up with in relegation round against Kazakhstan. Then things might start moving. Lauko imo shouldn't even come to WHC. He hadn't played single game for like 3 weeks since concussion. That's never going to happen. Probably they would come up with some excuse like we got unlucky that we got our best player injured or something like that.
He was good... I cant' say I blame him at all. One extra save would've been nice but definitely nowhere near the problem today. How was dostal?
I meant to say... unlike last year, I don't blame Varada for this. Not one bit... I thought he did a good job.I don't wish it to Varada or players, its not their fault, but there is still possibility we end up with in relegation round against Kazakhstan. I like its clear. We have to beat either Canada or USA so we will see what this team is really all about. But otherwise, I have been following this tourney since 2010 and overally its just a frustration. I am cheering for them, but, to be honest, because of the people in czech hockey and that adding group of people like Jagr, Slegr etc. I wouldnt mind to loose it in some brutal way.I meant to say... unlike last year, I don't blame Varada for this. Thats one of the reasons. As to structure they heavily struggle to reduce number of teams both in senior league and junior ones. In fact, last year the did it so terribly on junior level (they kicked out teams which even made playoff and two which weren't in relegation place). So these teams suit them now and according to court preliminary/provisional action, junior league should not even start. So what this great association did, they switched the name to DHL cup to go around this preliminary court decision. And this is not only one controversion. There are many others through years. But these people have no self reflection. The question for me is why. Im German who lifes near the Czech border. Hockey still has the support from the fans. What happen in the Czech youth system?
Maybe it has the same reason as the downfall of sport here in the Ex GDR. Sport was organized from the communist party. After the fall of the wall there was not really a structure in sports.
We had not the sport clubs Western Germany had. Maybe something similar happen in the Czech sytstem. Germany should have used some of the GDR sport system. But thats another story.
Yeah the states sucked in 2012 though.. I called that win.Thats one of the reasons. As to structure they heavily struggle to reduce number of teams both in senior league and junior ones. I understand that czech hockey is not much interesting thing for newspapers, but as a consequence, it still gets maybe too much credit. I believe one or two articles about whats really happenning in CZ hockey in some worldwide hockey news would really shock a lot of fans. Because sometimes its imo clear bizzare. But who knows, we might beat US and Canada and everything will be ok. But its fair to say that we havent beat US on junior level for more than ten years maybe? Edit, from other thread, we obviously beat them in 2012![]()
