IIHF refs are just sub-par.

People spend way too much time focused on their nationalities and less on the fact that they collectively just aren’t very good.

NHL refs are the worst of all, they basically make many mistakes every night when all the games are played the same, both teams play the trap etc. At the IIHF level there's a lot of different styles and matchups and the games are higher intensity so tougher to referee.

I knew the Czech were not that good, now Czech or Russia might play Kazakhstan in the relegation!

I just have hard time understanding why you base everything on goalies when you can use the examples of Mikheyev, Gusev and Prokhorkin all having NHL jobs. All after varying degrees of growing pains, though. So goalies go through them as well but it being a very important position most teams let them adjust in the AHL.

I actually said Goalies and D. Can you name many D that went striaght from Europe into the NHL? I guarantee the AHL list is longer. Off the top of my head... Kempny and Zaitsev.

However, if I looked... probably more forwards in the NHL came from the AHL too... just using the Czechs, Necas/Chytil/Zadina all came through AHL.

I just don't buy it, I mean what would they do to convince refs from Canada of all places to do this? bribe them? they simply could not ever get caught doing something like that or they would be in such deep shit. So if not that what is the other incentive they can offer?

Meh... I'd give player of the game to Seider. 3 assists, and that German defense is ass without him.
