much needed win, and encouraging. Unbelievable we get a call, I didn't expect that to count. I'd sure still like more control and giving up the 2 goal lead was a bummer. Gotta love the Leafs, and the Penguins is doable.

How about how the Jackets have been playing the Wings lately? I mean like, the past 2 seasons.

One game + tiebreaker up on Washington for possible points.

That's pathetic. Detroit does that and it's not a goal.

We're cheating again :( Nevermind that Smith took it off its moorings.

I've seen less whining on Tumblr than what we see out of that clown on a nightly basis.

Great game all around, defense played tough in front and were physical and moving their feet all night. Cmac was outstanding! I think people can stop mockingly calling him McBackup now. 2 big days of rest, hope Bob is OK!

He's fine - just praying to the porcelain god. I expect to see him Friday. Now, a day off, then they must practice the power play some more. 2 points are there for the taking against the Pens.

I was wondering during the 2nd period how many people didn't realize Bob was replaced? McBackup's rebound control was the best I've ever seen it... EVER... seriously... ever.

Not sure how good C. Mac is but this I can say, he got an education tonight... and the win!!!

Good for him, but the sooner Bob gets over the flu the better, we need Bob.

Sounds like Ryan is having fun out there.
Hope Atkinson's goal wakes him up, could use a couple players to go on "hot" streaks right now.

I just want Horton to show up for a game, this guy has got to still be getting up to speed/hurt, he was not this awful in Boston.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn he needs sports hernia surgery in the offseason (or something like that, I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on HFBoards)

You think Bob would have made the same saves as Cmac tonight? I don't think he does. Nothing bad on Bob, I think Cmac just made some unreal saves. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that Bob got sick. Also, allows Bob to get some rest and recover.

Anyone seen an attendance figure? Looked like a good crowd, but plenty of red. How was it for those who were there?

15,103 attendance

Boy, that number seems low. I'd say there were only 1,500 empty seats or so.

No one's calling you a liar, but I agree with Lee. I find that number hard to believe. Felt like quite a bit more. Both upper and lower seemed crowded to me.

Good, lively crowd, Pete. Lower bowl was standing for the last few minutes.

Outstanding win. The types of goals we scored tonight, that's the CBJ hockey we know and love. Atkinson was so exciting to watch tonight, was ecstatic for him when he finally buried one. It's been a long time coming.

McElhinney was good, that save he made with about a minute left was very good off of a shot from straight away in the slot. Like usual he had moments he had me on the edge of my seat with nerves because of his rebounds, just seems to be made of the same material as a super bouncy ball at times, but hey he got it done tonight, nothing but love for the guy. Let him live.

Has to be a disappointing loss for DET, but they have to be encouraged by what they are seeing out of Nyquist and Tatar. The kids can play.

Like the team, I'm taking a few days off from the stress of this playoff race. Hopefully we can come out prepared Friday and finally get a W over that team.

The way things are trending right now, I'd say Columbus and Washington make it. Detroit and Toronto may be getting out the golf clubs.

The silver lining was that I think the guys came out gangbusters in the second to give Cmac some help, so it gave them a boost for sure. I haven't had a problem with Cmac most games, he's been a solid backup. He won some big games for us when Bob was down and just ran out of gas when he was having to carry the load for so long.

Detroit, Washington, and Columbus have virtually the same record in the last 10 games. If they keep trending the way they are, there is a high probability of at least a 2 way tie. ROW currently at 32 for Jackets, 28 for Wings, 25 for Caps. Also, Columbus has the Dallas game in hand with the lead. With one fewer game to play, Washington is going to have a tough time getting in. I would think they will need to shoot for around 6-3 or 7-2 to get in. We shall see, definitely the most exciting time of year.

I have to agree about the Leafs though, who are having a hell of a time of it.

Also the Caps' Nick Backstrom injured his shoulder. No idea of severity, but with our experiences with Horton, shoulder injuries aren't easy to play with. He's their 2nd most important player.

I'd be mad if the Caps made it. I was at that game in January where CBJ dominated them and they just lack so much defensively it'd be like a guarantee they get destroyed in the first round.
