A mile bellow. With Armia, Dvorak, Wideman, Drouin and Hoffman, he's one of the reason why Habs s*cked so much. He's barely an nhl player, he belongs to bottom teams like Coyotes, teams artificially kept alive by Bettman's system. I dream of the day Habs will get rid of all these sub talented players and will become a force among the NHL teams.

But you can disagree with me. This is a democratic forum here. If you like Evans that's good for you, he seems to put a smile on your face.
Yes it's fine if we disagree. I don't have Evans in Armia territory because he's faster and paid appropriately for his role. I dont' have him in Hoffman and Drouin territory because he's not a turnover machine.

Now, how much offense does he have if he consistently plays with offfensive players? impossible for me to know for sure. But remember how much hate Danault and Lehkonen got here when they weren't playing with good offensive players and weren't producing, and look at what they're doing now.

With how bad of a fit Anderson is on the first line, and with the vet line doing well, it seems obvious Slaf should get a shot on the first line and we should go: (even though I want Ylonen to get a shot in the top 9)

Caufield Suzuki Slaf
RHP Newhook Anderson
Pearson Monahan Gallagher
Pez Evans Ylonen

It's like the egg and the chicken who came first. Danault and Lehkonen are better now because they are in better teams. Most of ex Habs players performs better, like Toffoli for example. Sure Evans can have better numbers playing in a team like Bruins or Devils for example. But I don't think he can be a positive factor in those team teams. He would just be a peice of puzzle of those teams.

If there is an avalange of injuries, who knows, maybe Evans will have to play second center and we'll see what he can do with better linemates. But I see him as a 4th center and not one of the best in that role. Skating fast is not enough. Monahan is slower and 10 times more efficient.

Sadly Anderson is a bad fit on any line. He just doesn't have chemistry with anyone, that's a rarity.

Maybe tonight he plays well against his old team.

I like him with RHP last year.

Have they had a single shift together this year in the regular season?

You also need 4th liners on a team playing that role. It seems some people still feel teams should be built like a video game with the same type of offensive talent on all four lines as if guys like Yakupov or Michkov should be on a 4th line over Evans.

Oh my. Good post.

Seems obvious for us old man non gamer.

It takes a special person with a light ego(rare in the hockey world) to accept to be underpaid compared to his teammates, have less opportunity, do the dirty deeds and always be on an hot seat.

Part of a coach job is to keep his rooms in check. You need those plugs to play those minutes silently.

He was good enough with Newhook during pre-season that its worth at least trying.

I mean at this point I'd do that playing at home so we can shelter the line a bit to get Suzuki going.

Time to order my pizza so it is good to go for game time.

I feel a Habs W tonight. It's not in Columbus so there is no cannon to motivate the BJs. Although we could get one of our own & just fire it whenever we don't let them score on our power play.

I kid, I kid

but not really
