Im convinced hughes is still playing with a nagging injury. Probably his shoulder or something. He seems to be playing scared and avoiding contact which is causing a lot of the turnovers. Also, his shot power and accuracy has completly vanished. Before the injury he was playing fearless (even for his size) and his shot had become deadly. He's just not the same ever since returning. We're way passed the point of shaking off the rust or anything like that. He's bad right now.

Schmid allowed 3 goals on 40 shots. He stopped pucks at the same rate he’s been stopping them at the NHL level all year long.

I have a hard time believing that. If it was that bad he wouldn’t be playing. NGL, this could be where he begins to learn that later in the season when you aren’t a bottom feeder, other good teams elevate and everything becomes tighter.
