There is no way he would be on the ice if he experiences any apparent symptoms. It does not mean they won't be super careful as they should. Anyways, this is the first time I am consideringnot watching the game, I just can't handle this excitment anymore:help::help:

Skating in a workout is not an indication that there are no symptoms. Players often undergo an intense off-ice or on-ice workout and have symptoms following the workout. It's part of the testing process. May I remind you that Rakell has been undergoing workouts and skating, yet he has still not been cleared.

Obviously, if a player is experiencing debilitating symptoms, they won't be put through the workout. So it is at least a sign that Crosby is to the point where he could attempt a workout.
Was Rakell skating this soon after? That's more my wonder. To allow skating 1.5 days after a concussion is quite short especially with Sids history.

For a typical game it's the quietest, least intimidating crowd in the league -- a few true fans outnumbered by the corporate business suit types and by the children with their heads down all game, twiddling around on their iPhones.

Tonight is not a typical game.
That's certainly not what the crowds were for Games 3 and 4.

Rakell was injured May 3. I believe he first skated - that was reported publicly, anyway - on May 6.

Again, every concussion is different, including concussions suffered by the same player. I'm simply cautioning against assuming anything, including that Sid is symptom free if he skated today. It's certainly better than him not skating, but I don't think it indicates any timetable. He could be back Sunday, or he could miss months.

My prediction is that Pens come out hot again and are up by 2 or 3 after the 1st. Igor does not finish the game...again. Rags fans spend the next 4 months complaining that the NHL is plotting against them somehow.
I badly hope we see a group effort that overwhelms.

If we look disjointed and defeated in play tonight....series is over for us. Home ice was massive so they need to feed on it

Another poster said that Sully should be playing the refs and in thier ear. Trust me Sully will be. Being at home is great and we will likely get some calls

This game more than any we need a few power play goals.

I predict a strong game from us and it's important to get on them early. Rags have alot of momentum right now. They smell blood. The sooner we can deflate that feeling the better.

So you are saying the Rangers score on their first shot? Yeah, I can see that.

Probably Zibby.

At least Sullivan has the lines somewhat right with Sid out. Bizarre that Rakell isn’t in yet.
Is that really bizarre? Rakell was wobbly as f*** after that hit. If he got a bad concussion he could be out all playoffs.

I'm with you but at least we're not Leafs fans. They're going into another game 7 hoping to avoid a 7th straight failure in the first round (with some DNQs in there). Their last four series went the distance and they lost em all.

if Rakell is a game time decision where do you put him?

These would be my lines with rakell in

Jake-Geno-rakell
Heinen - Erod - rust
Zucker - carter - kap
Doc - tb - McGinn

Rakells overall effect on the lineup could be huge as long as sully does it right.
