I was at the game 30+ shots...2 goals. Miller was on his game for sure

On the plus side, Cody Bass opened a can of whoop ass :handclap:

Well, at least we can put to rest any worries we may have had about Miller being capable to lead USA.

Tough loss, obviously, just wasn't our night, plain and simple. Shame it had to go down like that, but at least we gave the points to Buffalo, not Philadelphia. I still like our chances on Monday and Tuesday.

Wiz and JJ both -3 tonight. Way to step up guys when asked to carry the load.

Yeah, let's blame the defense because they happened to be on the ice for 3 bad goals & an empty netter.

Bob has saved some minuses in past games, tonight he cost a few that's all.

I just want to know what the frig happened to Bob tonite. Bob's performance tonite could be the worse goal tending I have ever seen in a CBJ uniform including Marc Denis at his worst. 3 goals in ten shot, two shorties that even I could have stopped. What happened? He was terrible. If he is angry because he feels he let the team down , well guess what? He did. This loss is squarely and exclusively on Bob.

If the Devils and Wings both win tomorrow, we're out again.

With 31 games left, the CBJ are right in the thick of the playoff race. I would have taken that without hesitation if you told me that at the start of the year. 2nd place in the Metro is within grasp, but 13th in the conference is not far off either.

Players have to put this behind them and grind out every game. Can't think that the playoffs are a given because they hold a spot today. That said, it should be a fun run to see how it all shakes out.

lol. Unfortunately I don't think they would listen. It's just twitter.

Earlier in the night you said the CBJ were a playoff team as long as they didn't collapse, now you're telling management to get it together before they blow the season. Are we a board of ups and downs or what.

Thank goodness you are not up and down too... lol

The thing is Brass, we played the worst team in the NHL tonight and got hosed... we should have been better prepared tonight...

This is what actually what happened: a new and very good yet inexperienced young team faced an old and hurting yet well coached team ... the young team collapsed.

Richards still has some work to do.... The Blue Jackets should have won this game...

The "team" did not collapse. The Vezina winning goalie did. Other than Bob, Wiz and RyJo the rest of the team played well. We did not "collapse".

I agree the team did not collapse. This one's on Bob tonight, 3 of the softest goals ever. In all honesty, all goalies have terrible outings once in a while and tonight Bob just didn't have his stuff.

Don't over-analyze it, as much as lots of you like to do so.

not gonna read back thru the whole thread, but while i agree all three goals on Bob were soft, the whole team played lazy and no one acted like they wanted the puck...just totally frustrating to watch...

Agreed. Bob was horrible and despite numerous opportunities (yeah, I know Miller was good) our scoring lines were unable to score. Mackenzie and Letestu tried to carry the load, but they're unable to do so.

Chalk it up to just a bad night. If Monday/Tuesday are bad, then we may have a problem.

Is Miller really that good??? Other NHL teams have beat him this season...

Bob was not good, I admit that, but does that mean the rest of the CBJ team is not good enough to overcome that??

Come on EDM, we have seen Detroit win for 13 years with various combinations of players... the Jackets as a team crapped tonight... it’s not all on BOB.

Detroit went 13 years without losing a game?

Oh, and if you recall, CBJ beat Miller and Buffalo a few days ago. He was also excellent that night. He was particularly so tonight. Stuff happens. Jeebus, get ahold of yourself.

Gotcha... what?

My point was, at times, when a goal tender is not his best, the team can cover....

And my point is, every team loses games, sometimes even against lesser teams....particularly if their all-world goalie stands on his head. There is nothing, nada, zilch that alarms me about tonight long term. Every team, even cup winners, has nights like this. I don't understand the panic.

There is no panic, just a rational hypothesis as to why the best team running in the NHL based on every expert in NHL got beat by the worst team in the league...

If it's a rational hypothesis, why am I not espousing it?

Could be worse. Could be a Stadium Series Kings fan who just spent 100+ for a ticket to watch your team get shutout

It was reminiscent of early season Bob. Hopefully this was a one and done deal. He has been great since right before his injury but there is the memory of early season Bob lurking to at least be aware of.

Losses happen. Gotta bounce back Monday in Raleigh. One thing that irks me though. How can we have Cody Freaking Bass up and in the lineup while Jack Skille, who can actually skate and shoot, is in Springy? Makes zero sense to me.

Skille not yet in game shape after his injury? Keep in mind if Savard hadn't got sick and Golo didn't get snowed in Bass would have been in the press box. Maybe they want Skille to play.

It wasn't Miracle on Ice. Buffalo does have some world class hockey players. My hypothesis: CBJ controlled the puck and dominated the offensive play for several minutes at a time. Had tons of shots blocked by Buffalo and the ones that weren't were stopped by Miller. Then, Buffalo went down and got 2/3 goals that they probably shouldn't have had.
