Kassian mocked Gagner when he was wearing facial protection, so that didn't help either. And yes they're still mad, just like how our fan base likely would be upset still too if that happened to one of our players.

As was pointed out during the broadcast tonight, Kassian first tried to apologize to Gagner and was met by a stream of abuse and expletives.

Eakins wasn't really taking a shot at the Canucks. The reporters were trying to goad him into saying that he wanted the team to go after Kassian. He just said that it would be a stupid thing to do cause they would be held liable if something did happen to Kassian.

Kinda funny watching Eakins get bullied. He gets all sarcastic and whiny. He's basically the polar opposite of Tortorella.

The problem with Eakins is that being in the spotlight isn't doing any favours for him. Maybe he's a decent coach if their organization personnel (not the players) we're down right rotten, but it's hard to say.

He's going to have to realize he'll get played a fool if he falls for the media. Exactly what happened with Luongo and the tire-pumping fiasco. I think it's a big reason why Torts hasn't lost it yet because he knows that reporters are just salivating for one soundbite that they can extrapolate into something sensationally incorrect.
