lol.... I doubt it, Torts must have his marching orders because in the past he would have yanked a goalie in the same situation years ago.. ;)

I think it was mainly due to wanting Bob to work off the rust.

Rychel with 4 pts in 5 games since call up.

Jones has 4 pts in 6 games as a Jacket.

It might be ephemeral but Murray and Jones played like a real top pair tonight. (And yes, I noticed that they got killed on the PK).

At my age it might be ephemeral but I learned something tonight.

How are we railing on Saad ? Yes he's hit a lull with 2 points in past 7 games . Yet he still has 16 goals and 15 assists, for 31 points in 46 games. Plus he's 23, playing on a new team that's struggled mightily.

tonight was about our 2 worst defenders who are more like a 5-6 on a AHL team more then a NHL team and Bob working off rust. the 1st 2 goals were not on him at all and the first 10 minutes of the game he faced like 2 shots so he was out there already with some rust and didnt get tested early enough to really get in a groove. the best team in the league is probably not the game you want to come back from after a month off but it happens we cant win them all. having all the other injuries didnt help either.

side note I still dont see why all the Torts hate. Everyone seems to want to go off of past torts and not current torts. If you take out the first 8 games for all teams in the league and start from there I think our record is in the playoffs right now or close too. everyone wanted accountability before he was here and now we get it and its because his ego and temper and its causing us to lose and apparently lose the locker room. Other then RyJo and toots it doesnt seem like anyone had or has an issue with torts and it actually seems like some prefer him. Cam has greatly improved in my eyes and hes said multiple times that the way he coaches makes you want to play for him.

I know everyone hates the "next year we are going to make it" and it never happens but I think the playoff run 2 years ago was a fluke and that push last year was a good run but just a blip in the radar. with RyJo gone and finally shoring up the D (injuries caused dumb and dumber to play they wont be here next year) and having a top pick columbas will make the playoffs as a 6-8 seed. in 365 days this board will be a much happier place.

Agreed on Falk and Prout. Agreed on Torts. On the last point, Jarmo's got to clear out some dead wood first.

It would be a shame if Torts drove that guy away. I hear he really has potential. It would suck to lose him to another franchise. When is the last time we had a #1 Gatorade handler?

When's the last time we ever DEVELOPED a Gatorade bottle filler?!? This franchise always gives up on its young talent too soon!

Two things.

If we're allowed to say. 15-1-1 is an aberration, then I think it's fair to say about October .

I reject this premise. 15-1-1 was an aberration because the games no longer mattered. Our playoff hopes were dead and buried. 0-8 at the start of the season MATTERED. They're not equivalent just because they're games.

I also think it's fair to assume the team was likely to be able to play .500 in the games since no matter the coach.

I agree with Espen that, as fans, we've gotten to see some things from young players. But I don't think the team is any better than before.

If we were going to make assumptions, no one would have assumed we'd start 0-8. There are lots of other stats I could pull out to show we're a better team despite Jarmo's piss poor roster management, but I only care about wins and losses. However, we can conclude the coach wasn't the problem.

What a terrible team.

Our "first line" couldn't even hang with Washington's second line of Johasson, Wilson and Chimera. The first line of the Great 8, Backstrom and Oshie held on to the puck for what seemed like eternities most of the game in the CBJ zone. Atkinson, Jenner and Dubinsky were so outclassed it wasn't funny.

Other than the first 10 minutes when Washington was asleep, it wasn't a game. This team's long term contracted forwards can't hang with the big dogs. Not even close. Dubinsky will get completely exposed as the #2C that he is against the teams in the upper third of the league. Just as he was tonight. Pretty comical when he barked at Ovechkin after #8 checked him pretty hard. Tough guy Dubi wanted no part of him. But his bark was fierce and highly competitive no doubt.

Can't blame Bob on goals 1,2 or 4. Great shots on the first two and the 4th was a door step tip in courtesy of the greatest defensive pairing that will ever be, #3 and #27. I can only imagine how things will be when the Wonderful Werenski wields his wand with the dynamic duo. Nothing short of dynastic, I'm sure.

I'm glad Torts and his 3rd grade classroom approach to coaching cost the CBJ the services of its leading scorer last night. Scotty had to say "I'm sorry" to all his classmates and then had to sit in the corner with his funny hat on while everyone else played. 17-23 under the washed up one. Great hire, Jarm baby!

Maybe a half full building. Maybe. Had the energy level of a library with candy dishes full of free high powered sedatives.

Believe it or not, I had a good time. Hockey's a great sport and the competition tonight made it all the worthwhile to have gone. Can't wait to see Montreal and the Jackets play next Monday. Somebody's got to win that one. I think.

Johansson line is the third line. Kuznetsov line is the second

^I honestly cant tell if troll or not? If not it seems like your best option is finding another team to watch because if thats how you watch your favorite team your doing it wrong...
