I've noticed recently he throws out his Stiffs after something good happens. If there is a great scoring chance or God forbid the Kings score a goal the next shift will feature 3 of Sutter's Stiffs. Now it seems to include end of games when a goal is needed, almost like he's throwing games. Again, if this is abut accountability if Sutter's Stiffs are on the ice and they virtually never produce goals and the Kings lose where is the punishment for his boys?

It's happened every game the Kings are down a goal with 2 min or less remaining. Nolan has been out for every shift.

The Stiffs sounds like a great band name.

Yeah that's the best I can come up with, he's trying to reward the guys that are playing well, which they are--but playing well is relative, and you aren't going to win many games playing the fourth line when down by 1 and going for the tie. At some point results matter.

Is this place more out of control the DC at this point? Haven't had a chance to read it yet.

Man they played a good game and were getting chances all over the place tonight.

Budaj.... lol... that's one of the all time worse goals against. Up there with Quicks 30 feet high off the netting and into the net and that one D (OD maybe) back in the 90's that was knocked down and his momentum carried him into the goalie, who had the puck covered and knocked the goalie and the puck into the net. Awesome!

I love Sutter so much. Nolan out there for the extra skater!

Game was entertaining.

Quick's own goal vs. the Rangers was probably worse since he had time to think about it and actively dropped his stick playing the puck into the net, lol. But yeah, I have never seen anything like that in all my 25 years of playing and watching hockey. Headbutt own-goal is new. At least I can say this team never fails to surprise me.

well we know how that season ended :naughty:

I guess double-bonus that it was against the Rangers, and they still can't get over Quick and Doughty being awesome and vastly outplaying Henrik and McDonagh who was involved in every GWG except the series winner

But hey, they'll always have the above clip, and Pouliot ripping the puck from Drew.

So that was the worst team in the East. JF's first win of the year, 3rd or 4th start. Kings looked good, but still couldn't convert chances. :(

I'm starting to lose hope.

Boy, I'm gonna have to find lots of exciting things to do in NYC this week, cause odds are I'm not gonna be entertained at the Rangers and Devils games on Monday and Tuesday.

I don't know what happened in this game, but here's a catgirl wiggling her ears. Maybe it will help.

And other than Carter and maybe Pearson, who has results? He threw Nolan out there right when he pulled the goalie because Kopitar and Gaborik just came off the ice after a shift. The Carter line was out there, and if not Nolan at that particular moment, then who? Shore? Lewis? A 4th line guy either way.

Kopitar has 4 goals, pretty much the season in a nutshell.

As does Gaborik, and Dowd, and Shore, and Setoguchi. Also fewer than both Lewis, Brown, and King. Have to crack that nut open sometimes to see the true horror.

That loss is all on Budaj. First goal was pathetic to say the least. The game winner he was out of position. Saw highlights of the goal from the over view camera and he's cheating too much to the left, leaving the right side of the net open.
Yes, Budaj has stepped in and played well under the circumstance, but at times he's killing this team and giving up crucial points with bad goals. You just can't have that at the NHL level.
This team needs Quick back in the worst way.

The funny thing about the Quick goal is that it wasn't even a shot on goal. It was a PK clearing attempt 15 wide of the net.

I would guess that they had to award the "Shooter" a SOG after the goal.

Budaj: .916 Sv% 2.14 GAA
Quick 15-16: .918 Sv% 2.22 GAA
Quick 14-15: .918 Sv% 2.24 GAA

The version of Jonathan Quick who can help try and overcome this team hasn't been around since 2011-2012. What this team actually needs is Kopi to get healthy and/or pull his head out of his ass and start playing up to a fraction of his contract. They need Toffoli to get healthy. They need Doughty to stop going through the motions and play something at least in the vicinity of his potential. They need to stop playing Muzzin and Martinez together. They need Muzzin to play more like last season and not like the garbage he's been this season. To put it simply, outside of Carter, every player with a large cap hit on this team is hurting this team by either being injured, or playing below their potential.

Kings have to play .650 hockey just to get 95 pts. .650 a few weeks ago would have been good for 100 pts. I don't think Quick's coming back, we've Budaj for the rest of the season.
