First time I have seen any desperation in the Kings game.

Budaj, fail on the first goal. Team can't score enough to even have one mistake and overcome it.

Just tank it. 36 games, who cares. This team is going nowhere in the playoffs with or without Quick, or Toffoli. Kopitar is a shell of himself injured.

It's painful to watch this crap.

Look on the bright side.

And we'll finally have something to get excited about on Day 1 of the Draft.

Don't worry guys lets mortgage more of the future by trading for Hanzal and Landeskog, once the team gets hot they are unstoppable right?

might as well aim for a top 5 pick. thats more realistic than a playoff spot. but hey they swapped minor leaguers today so we've got that going for us

Go big or go home.

Why was setoguchi scratched for this one? Did someone return from injury?

No, Andy Andy got his turn. Though I'm wondering how Dowd's injury will turn out.

10 points out of 3rd and getting closer to being out of it as the teams above continue to win. We'll be lucky to win 2.

Team was never going to contend for third in the division with Budaj in net.

WC spots best you could hope for.

With Kopitar/Gabo not producing, team is more likely a 80-85 point team.

He's been playing with a brace on his wrist for awhile now. 9 points in his last 8 games is a start but unless he starts shooting again the team is done

He took a good solid shot from the blueline that hit Pearson and stung for a bit. You don't take that shot if your wrist hurts. He had 2 goals in the 15 games prior to getting hurt this year. He also does, or at least has had, some sort of bandage on his wrist. We always think he's hurt when he's not scoring, like in the 2013 playoffs, but he rarely is. At least enough to keep him out of the lineup, and if you're in there, you have to produce if you're him. He also had a full season career low 16 goals in 14-15, so this type of production is no longer completely out of the blue.

It's kind of all over the place. Is he hurt, or does he just not shoot/score enough anymore? I don't know, but I'm leaning toward the latter. 2 of the last 3 years now. He didn't score in the last 12 games in the 2014 playoffs. It's closer to a trend than not at this point.

I actually thought they'd hover close to it, within 3 or 4 points. After the homestand , forget it it.

I agree for the most part, he needs to start shooting the puck way more he looks like he is playing with zero confidence on the ice. If he is still playing hurt Sutter and Lombardi might as well just shut him down for the season at this point

Might as well call up some youth and give them a go, this season is a wash.

The future looks bleak, not just only for the Kings either...

Handing any Hockey player age 28/29 an Eight year deal with High Cap hit is a disaster waiting to happen, for any team.

I wouldn't even give Doughty a Kopitar type Contract at age 28/29.

But that's just me.

Just watch though, the GM's will fight for Five year max contracts come next CBA.

In the last 200 regular season games for Kopitar, since the start of the 14-15 season, he's got 45 goals, which comes out to 18.45 over 82 games. In the 2 seasons without Lucic on the team, it's now 20 goals in 119 games, or 13.78 over 82 games. Again, 2 goals in the 15 games this season before the injury, which is 10.9 over 82 games.

Seems like there's something more than the injury there. He always hibernated in the deep winter months, but he still got 25-30 goals. He is older now though.

Brown's offense disappeared before his big retirement contract kicked in. Kopitar is looking at a career low in goals in the first year of his big retirement contract. You can't have these things happen in a cap world. One is complicated enough. Two, it's a team killer. A franchise relevance killer really. Throw Gaborik in there too, with 16 goals in his last 78 games. It's just too much cap space for too few goals. Quick was the goalie the last 2 years, so even he isn't some magic pill.

Can't beat Edmonton in a must win game 2 years ago. Couldn't hold a 3-0 lead at home to the Jets with the division on the line last year. 1 playoff win since 2014. Now 12-20-14 in regulation this year. Huge contracts, with still a couple more to come this summer, plus Doughty in a couple years. This franchise has found itself in a tough place. What are they paying the money for exactly?

When you put Nolan out during the final 30 sec. you know Sutter has lost his mind. I had to go back and watch to make sure.

We got an icing with like 2 minutes left that I thought would be a good way to get our guys out there and Sutter put out the 4th line and 3rd pairing. I nearly lost my **** but they were lucky enough to get a soft SOG to keep possession.

I get more over Sutter every game. Great coach, great system, entertaining guy, love what he's done for us, but this team needs a shakeup even despite all the other garbage circumstances. But I realize it's unlikely.

I've noticed recently he throws out his Stiffs after something good happens. If there is a great scoring chance or God forbid the Kings score a goal the next shift will feature 3 of Sutter's Stiffs. Now it seems to include end of games when a goal is needed, almost like he's throwing games. Again, if this is abut accountability if Sutter's Stiffs are on the ice and they virtually never produce goals and the Kings lose where is the punishment for his boys?

If he's trying to teach his top guys a lesson, it's totally not working.
