That was a poorly officiated game.

I know Brown exstended on the hit and the dude's stick came up and hit him in his visor and all, but he acted like he just got killed.

Loved it when Bown knocked him and another Dallas player into next week too.

Glad they came away with two points. Keep it going boys.

The Kings are currently the only team that is top ten in the NHL in goals per game (8th), goals against per game (7th), power play percentage (10th), and penalty kill percentage (10th).

LOL ... it was only below his shoulder because he JUMPED in the Air to swing at it ... the LINESMAN made the right call on the Ice ... but was overruled WRONGLY by the 2 Refs.

This was the biggest no-brainer in history to call a puck hit with a high stick / disallow a goal, and the NHL still couldn't get it right. I thought every goal gets reviewed in TO or NY?

Bob and Jim explained that even though the deflected high-stick shot did not go in, the continuation play shot/goal should not have counted. (I've never seen a high-stick shot & save, then a goal)

The NHLOA needs to have a postmortem after that abortion of officiating tonight. The worst collective officiating effort in recent memory.

Glad the Kings won, and happier that the Stars will be golfing next week.

Kind of a random stat, the Kings are 12-0-3 in their last 15 when they score 2+ goals.

For some context, the Kings have had 4 games in that stretch where they failed to score 2 goals, they are 0-4-0.

Worst than hanzel's goal against the kings? That game was brutal too.

Its gonna take me a while to get used to jealousy. Pre-cup to now on HF is absolutely mind blowing.

I loved it when Penner high-sticked about 4 people withing 15 seconds, right in front of the referee who didn't call anything.

They were not sharp tonight.

I hope that the league puts in a coaches challenge next season.

Mike Richards is so good right now compared to the crap that was wearing his jersey in the beginning.

Jeff Carter is a really smart player. He's a beast. It takes skill to get lucky like in the OT goal.

Kopitar needs to be better on PP, but he was good overall, but his shooting can really improve.

Quick was very good today, his positioning was a bit sloppy but he is getting game after game. I think he will be money come playoffs.

Im loving doughty and slava today, great effort by them. Greene was solid along with RR. And I dont get how some of you hate that doughty complains after some calls. Everyone does it.

There is no good way to implement it. And won't happen because of it.

But what could happen is that the play that the Dallas goal was allowed they could review the whole play. I hadn't seen the call from LA only Dallas and they didn't state that they couldn't get help. We know every goal is reviewed just to make sure and in a case like this they could review it. Since it seems very stupid that if the shot had gone in they can review but because Quick makes the save but doesn't control they now can't.

I've said this before about HF in general. This place is all about the future (hence the name of the site), as opposed to the now. Prospects are always more valuable than proven players, etc. When the Kings were building, so many on the main board would sing the praises of the Kings. How the pipeline was full with prospects. How the Kings could contend in the future with the talent in the organization. As an opposing fan, it was fine to voice that opinion and not be afraid of it because 9 times out of 10, the team whose prospects you're pumping up don't ever realize their potential.

Well, a funny thing happened during the Kings rebuild, Dean contracted a new foreman in Sutter, applied the last coat of paint in Jeff Carter, then the players realized their potential and whooped the league's collective *****. So now, you've got a ton of posters who once upon a time lauded the Kings youth and predicted greatness, but never really wanted to actually see that happen. It happened alright, and now they're all praying that it doesn't happen again.

They were all so quick to jump on the Kings early after the poor start, but 30+ games later and the Kings have proven to be legit. HF helped build the Kings hype over the years and now that the team has truly arrived, some of them can't handle it. I'm actually going to paraphrase what a Blues fan said about the Kings. HF let the Kings into their kitchen, and now the Kings are in there breaking all of their dishes. Let me tell you, it feels friggin' great being the bad dinner guest.

well that was an interesting game -2 on goals and we still win!!! **** yeah!!!

Voynov was god awful tonight, easily the worst King on the ice.

Glad the team didn't let the officiating dictate the outcome of the game. Was nice to see Quick with some fire in his belly and then back it up with his play. If Kopitar can get going, look out!

They better have given him two hits on that play!:yo:

I guess the linesmen have little or no say, especially when a goal is scored and has to be overturned. The play should've been blown down as soon as he hit the puck. I saw the arm go up, but no whistle followed.

The explanation given to brown about the Dallas second goal is that the puck was hit above the crossbar but below the shoulder. A goal is disallowed above the crossbar, but the puck has to be hit above the shoulder to be blown dead.

Sounds like the right call was made on that goal.

Not only was the puck above his shoulders but he jumped too.

Hey, we beat the ducks too!

The linesman always defer to the refs on High stick calls (they can still make the call). If its the middle of the ice and it looks like the refs missed it, then they might call it. But on something bang bang like that, they would wait till the call is made then consult with the ref. At which point the ref either says ok....or says my call stands I don't care what you think you saw.
