I went to the game tonight and just home, browsed threw the game day thread

He's my 1 post

If there is going to be continued talk in our Game Day threads during our games about a player who now plays for Nashville that gave maybe 50-60% on a good night when He was in Columbus ....I will be D O N E with this board

Brassard was a lazy bum in your city. Now he's a 1st line center in NY.
Voracek was a lazy bum in Columbus. Now he's a 1st line winger and all-star.
Savard was a lazy bum 2 years ago. Now he's your 1st pairing defenseman.
Mason was a lazy bum too. Now he's a decent starting goalie.
Now Johansen. And he's most talented and gonna have the best career of the bunch.
Enjoy your franchise defenseman who doesn't know how to play 2 on 1.

I think you guys are letting this too deep in your thoughts

It was a nice play though... Joey has been a beast tonight, everyone thought he would look completely different, and he certainly has so far. For whatever reason he clearly wasn't happy in Columbus anymore. Whatever he does in Nashville shouldn't matter though, I don't think he was turning it around for the Jackets. Seth Jones is only going to get better, sit back and enjoy. Good luck this year and especially in the future.

Agreed with all of this. Except the Jones thing of course, its far too early, but he did make a bad play.

Is your point Columbus gives up too soon on its young players?

I can see that these Boards are going to be extremely fun over the next little while.

The trade was not about this season, let alone the first game.

Don't worry. As soon as Jones becomes anything decent this franchise is gonna trade him away for some promising prospect after he has a rough half of a season and bunch of people would be calling him "a lazy bum". That's how Columbus rolls through the history of the NHL.

I think Columbus doesn't know how to deal with talent, how to handle it.

Brassard publicly said he lost his passion in Cbus. He was not going to get better in Cbus.

Mason stated that he almost quit hockey in Columbus.

Voracek has never scored more than 23 goals, and has had 1 sixty point season and 1 eighty point season, makes 8 million and has two fewer goals than Matty Calvert. (and I liked Jake)

Nash asked out.

And what do all of these people players have in common? They were drafted and developed by a different FO. You know who was developed by this one? Savard.

Savard was a lazy bum 2 years ago. Now he's your 1st pairing defenseman.

1st pairing is actually generous, but he's made huge leaps after this FO challenged him to do so.

Joey was really the only one that's valid, and its' not like the problems he's had here he didn't have other places.

This is the epitome of supporting your conclusion with the thesis. "Columbus sucks, because they and give up on talent, because they're Columbus and Columbus sucks."

Give me a break.

We played the same tonight without Joey as we did against Minnesota with Joey.

But we played way better against the 2 best NHL teams prior to that. With Joey. Possibly playing against Minnisona the team knew that was his last game for the Jackets.

Perhaps the real question should be - why are so many talented young players losing their passion for the game in Columbus?
