We have not had a Number One Center all year. This game was no different.

We had him last year. And a year before when we made playoffs. Crosby had less points than Johansen just 2 weeks ago. Probably they should have traded him for a prospect with some raw potential too.

Miss you too, Bob, and the good old days when we really didn't have any expectations.

Do you ever make it up to Buffalo anymore? Wanna meet up on April 8th for that beer we didn't have on your birthday? We can cry in it... Ha!

Unreal.... I will be at the final game in Buffalo on April 8th... I sold my place in the Buffalo area so getting to Buffalo is now rare but I'll be at that game with my wife and some friends... I'd love to link up with you!!!!

That game could determine the first pick in the draft so it will be fun... PM me..

The legend of fantasy hockey Joey and his points shall haunt these boards for a long time. Nevermind the fact that no one on this board can remember 3 of his points for the season.

Neither did I. "Comparing" is what I said, which is what has been done in this thread. (which is ****ing insanity.)

At first, it wasn't a comparison of them as players.
At second, they were 1st line centers who had something in common: they were struggling this season.
At third: this board has too many posters who can't say too much on the topic, but always would appear to point out that you cant compare something or someone.

Where you've been when someone compared Jones to Doughty, Hedman or even Pronger? I guess you're ok with that comparison, which is just ridiculously laughable. Especially after watching tonight's game.

Exactly.
I firmly believed in time we could win a cup with Johansen. With what we have now I do not.

Just to prove that there are takes about tonight's game that don't have anything to do with the big trade...

Didn't seem to matter anyway. Looked like the same team I've been watching all season long. If I ignore the player name on the jersey, I just see a team that's rarely dangerous, that defends haphazardly, that is either too slow or to or not committed to the forecheck more often than not, that has trouble in transition in both directions, and that can't get the puck out of its own zone.

Pick another struggling 2nd or 3rd line center in the NHL to compare Johansen to, and then the analogy would have worked a lot better.

Name me any 2nd or 3rd line center who scored 134 points over the last 2 seasons and I'd do it.

The CBJ Civil War raging on these boards is very appropriate for a team that draws so much of its imagery from this conflict. C'mon boys, we need a win tomorrow night so we can all bury the hatchet and sing Kumbaya together!
