Got to love relevant history.
And when those flips are not working, it means the puck is coming right back into our end. Offensive flips are different than defensive flips. Offensive flips that don't work, you're gifting them 100 feet of ice as opposed to making them come back from 200 feet out and with your 1-3-1 set. They seem content to flip pucks into the neutral zone and hope to skate into them to beat their forecheck. That’s what I noticed the last two games especially. I guess the coaching staff isn’t confident enough in this group to be able to thread the needle coming out of their own end. And would prefer to face Florida with a defense that is set rather than them trying to make plays but turning pucks over. I can’t blame them but it goes to show this roster is not good enough
The only things I think could change are
1) The matchups. Maurice was hitting Trouba with Barkov like he was spraying a cockroach with Raid.
2) Even this D corps can play a little better than they did in those two games.
3) Maybe Mika doesn't exacerbate everything wrong with this team with like 19 turnovers. Would be nice.
You don't wanna know what they say.If we can get back to playing more like Games 1 and 2 rather than Games 3 and 4, we can pull this off. I don't think we were perfect by any means in Games 1 and 2, but I thought we played better than in Games 3 and 4. Just felt like Florida had more high danger chances in Games 3 and 4 than they did in Games 1 and 2. Wonder what the advanced stats say though.
actually he f***ed that up too he couldn't even clear it over the glass.it's true
it was his best play of the night and the series
Did we know that? I brought it up last week and people weren’t happy to hear it.I still have faith that there's a winner in this locker room.
They have a ton of heart and they've answered a lot of questions. Trocheck has emerged as a legit 1C. Lafreniere is going to make it. I really don't think Panarin has had a bad tournament. Even if you have qualms with Kreider and Zibanejad, they're relatively cost-effective for their roles and we'll be relying on them less. Trocheck is already our undisputed 1C. He plays more than Zibanejad. I think maybe we need another winger, but the forward group can win.
I guess we'll let them play out the series and save this discussion for the summer, but they have multiple non-top-4 D playing top-4 roles. We knew they would have to win in spite of that, and the problem is fixable.
Seriously?Yes please
Yes they are all human, but that's just the reason that momentum doesn't REALLY translate. Sure, from shift to shift it can, but even then one good shift from the other team and it shifts again. I guess I just don't see momentum as a big thing, especially from period to period or game to game.I mean it's still the NHL and players are human. You might get an off period here and there.
Some people aren't happy to hear anything that isn't the same tired old tropes.Did we know that? I brought it up last week and people weren’t happy to hear it.
Chytil is likely back next game.Did we know that? I brought it up last week and people weren’t happy to hear it.
Seriously?
Just put Roslovic back with Kreider and Zibanejad FFS. That’s literally why they got him.
Kreider-Zibanejad-Roslovic
Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere
Cuylle-Wennberg-Kakko
Rempe-Goodrow-Wheeler
Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Schneider
Gustafsson-Trouba
Thank you.17 against, 13 for. All strengths.
11 against, 10 for. Even strength.
it's true
it was his best play of the night and the series
Don't agree with him.Funny thing is it’s the truth
No not almost half. All strengths includes even strength and special teams.Thank you.
So in ths playoffs the rangers have let up 40 goals total. He has been on the i e for almost half of them
How does the coach not see this?
Then stick him on the 4th line. These are the best iterations of our top-9.Chytil is likely back next game.
Yea take out last games best line and put in a guy who's scared to be hit and a career AHL'erPlease put Miller-Schneider back together. I don't care how bad Gus-Trouba had been, you have to run this. They were 7-2 with those pairs and 3-2 since then.
Can't keep changing the forward lines and leave the pairs alone. You're struggling to exit your zone and that is primarily on the defense.
Limit Trouba and Lindgren to PK and 3rd pair minutes. Stack Gus-Fox for OZ draws or even Miller-Fox if Gus just ended his shift.
Wheeler and Rempe out, Chytil and Brodz in. We need speed and these two bring it. Don't care what Rempe brings to the crowd.
10-16-13
20-93-72
24-91-96
50-21-76
Im not following. What else is there besides even strength and special teams. No not almost half. All strengths includes even strength and special teams.
Oh no you’re right I thought you added them together. Reading too fast.Im not following. What else is there besides even strength and special teams.
He has been on the ice when 17 goals were scored. Correct?
We have given up 40 goals total.
Forgive me if i am missing something here
He should have force fed it to him instead of throwing it.
How many times did Mika, while carrying the puck, see a Panther/s player/s come at him and just give the puck to them? That is an unacceptable sort of play from a player like him.Mika almost scored on the 2nd PP he was more engaged, but he played a very poor game. very poor mental decisions.
Bottom line, if Krieder, Mika, and Panarin can't start scoring, we are looking the the Rangers trying to "squeak out" 1g wins and in OT.
Not too many more options for this current group right now.
