what boyle was saying in the post game is we’re doing a f*** ton of chasing. our entire team is tired. we csnt sustain this. not without extra rest days, not with the travel.
each game isn’t its own entity. it builds off your previous games. regardless of what people may say, momentum between games is a major thing. but that momentum cones in multiple ways. as I believe marchand says, you hit to hurt players. as the series goes on, your body starts to wear down and you lose your ability to play your game.
this is why heavy teams are so difficult to play against. and it goes back to the size vs. speed arguments and how they neutralize each other. the rangers have neither size nor speed. and we’re seeing the rangers physically break down. when we get to the injury report after the playoffs are done, I’m sure the list will be extensive.
the bigger issue, though, is all this chasing around is taxing. we’ve been on our heels for 3 of 4 periods. rangers have to be completely drained. that’s why it’s so huge to get through carolina and this series quick when you have the chance. the rangers have to be just drained.
again, back on thursday and we have to travel back home. I don’t know if they’re gonna have enough energy. half our team looks like they’re sleepwalking. the way they’re playing isn’t sustainable for a best of 3, and if’s already catching up to them
