What? They just split 1-1 in Florida despite 10-5 PP chances and 3 of the 6 periods total ass with Kreider, Mika, and Panarin not doing much of anything. You don't think things can get better? LOL.

As someone said I'm looking at the way we're playing. 3 of 4 games against Tampa that we lost were 1 goal games. We got dominated. And in this series we got even more dominated. Winning two more games not getting out of your zone for 2 periods is highly unlikely to happen.

This is the shit that I just can't stand on this board.

Good then stop watching. It's over according to you.

series might as well start now and it’s 0-0. One game at a time. Until they lose 4, they’re in it. You’re overreacting IMO. Every team in the playoffs goes through ebbs and flows. You have to weather the storm and find your game.
It’s the same story with the same players time and time again. What’s going to change?

Watched replay.

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.

We had it in hand.

Upside, you ask me? Lafreniere will hoist Stanley one day, it’s inevitable.

Just might not be with this group of players….but there’s still hope.

what boyle was saying in the post game is we’re doing a f*** ton of chasing. our entire team is tired. we csnt sustain this. not without extra rest days, not with the travel.

each game isn’t its own entity. it builds off your previous games. regardless of what people may say, momentum between games is a major thing. but that momentum cones in multiple ways. as I believe marchand says, you hit to hurt players. as the series goes on, your body starts to wear down and you lose your ability to play your game.

this is why heavy teams are so difficult to play against. and it goes back to the size vs. speed arguments and how they neutralize each other. the rangers have neither size nor speed. and we’re seeing the rangers physically break down. when we get to the injury report after the playoffs are done, I’m sure the list will be extensive.

the bigger issue, though, is all this chasing around is taxing. we’ve been on our heels for 3 of 4 periods. rangers have to be completely drained. that’s why it’s so huge to get through carolina and this series quick when you have the chance. the rangers have to be just drained.

again, back on thursday and we have to travel back home. I don’t know if they’re gonna have enough energy. half our team looks like they’re sleepwalking. the way they’re playing isn’t sustainable for a best of 3, and if’s already catching up to them

Yes, nothing could ever change in the playoffs right? Playing better at home? More favorable officiating? Coach making some adjustments? Last change? This team has won all year when it mattered. It's very possible they can come through again.

We haven't been good enough in any game in this series. Winning two out of three remains a huge ask.

And it's not about coaching. It's about holes on defense and star forwards who have been flat-out terrible.

It honestly just comes down to this and only this. Injuries aren't helping either, but when it's all said and done, other than Fox, I'd like to know who is really injured in our top forwards who haven't produced anything this series.

They will be energized at home. It's basically do or die. Boyle also said it wouldn't be that hard to make adjustments that would have the Rangers play more of their game. Hopefully officiating wont be as lopsided as the 10-5 we just saw in Florida.

Fox is hurt, Trouba is hurt. I also think Mika is hurt. He hasn't been the same since he was crosschecked late in the Carolina series.

This has been a trend for years now: different personnel, different staff, different management, same f***ing mentality.

IF we do have multiple people who are indeed hurt, why does this franchise incessantly give them big minutes?

Sure but its Carolina, its just a bunch of low danger chances, feels like Florida is getting volume and quality
That's a false narrative. Once Carolina started to hold onto the puck and make plays their shots were more high quality and they had a lot of them. People have short memories I guess. Carolina was a top team in this league and was considered the cup favorites before the playoffs started. We won that series. We can win this.

We don't know, just speculating.

f***ed up thing... if that post Mika hits goes in the whole complexion of the game changes there

You could make a similar case on the hold call that led to the 1-1 tying goal. Hundreds of similar tie-ups on the boards in the playoffs almost never get called. The missed flagrant trip at the end of regulation was also atrocious.

On the flip side, I think we also got away with a few and I think they just lost to a more desperate team that executed better today. I mean, let's be real, if that tying goal early in the third didn't wake the Rangers up, I'm not sure what would have.

Not overly worried about it. The team bounces back well and I still fully expect the Rangers to win this series.

Because after the first period that represented the Blueshirts’ best 20 minutes of the series if not the entire tournament, they caved. They were overwhelmed. They yielded a flurry of odd-man rushes against. They defended nearly the entire remaining 41 minutes, out-attempted 59-14 after the first period at five-on-five after holding a 15-12 edge in the first in which they took a 1-0 lead.

Brooks nails it, but he doesn't go anywhere close to being as hard on the defense as he should, they literally can't skate.

Is it possible to mute users here on HFBoards? Some of you are so damn pessimistic, even though this team has proved themselves several times over this year that a 2-2 series is more in their favor than not. Yes, some players aren't playing up to their standards, but that might change the very next game. LGR all the way from Norway.

He's not saying shit. It's his usual, vague nonsense. We all know everything he is saying.

The D is tired. They're receiving a lot of textbook illegal charges, with no calls. One good way to handle that is for Ranger forwards to charge their D, with the same 8 stride, no let up whatsoever, full speed pile drives into the boards. But we don't do it. We let up. We should be hammering their D (and forwards) the same illegal way. It clearly will not be called.

Also, the D generally do not have great outlets because Florida floods areas. We don't seem to have much of a consistent coaching strategy for it. Shit, flying the weak side forward the second we touch a puck and just area tossing it out looking for breakaways would be better than the outlet structure we employ now. Florida plays aggressively, absolutely does leave holes behind themselves, and this would at least keep their pinches more honest.

I play D. If I don't have room to skate or a friendly stick to put the puck on, there's a strong chance I'll ice it. That's often the NYR this series in their own zone. The coaches need to solve that and give the team a structure to follow.

We need to interfere more to slow the forecheck and/or mitigate it before it even starts. Florida is flagrantly interfering all series. Literally skating right into our guys' paths. Clearly, it's not gonna get called. So do the same thing. Our D will have way more time to set up if we start interfering and picking the way Florida has been all series.

Anyway, Florida is entirely beatable. They make plenty of mistakes and have exploitable holes. But if we don't bend the rules the way they do, we are making things vastly harder on ourselves, will end up more tired, more hemmed in, more beat down, more injured, and with limited ability to generate in their end.

The Cats game is wearing our guys down.
They're putting up a fight and getting beat.
I think Lav is out of tricks.
Having said that anything can happen.
