What a win! What a blast to be at this game. Anyone else in section 221 and 222 join in on the FU Prust chant as the scratches were leaving the bridge with 10 minutes left to go down to the locker room, hilarious.

Hahaha! Hilarious. I'm assuming they all heard it. Any reaction from him?

I actually think they missed his tenacity and forechecking tonight (of course, we miss Stepan's skill even more...). Man, I hope we close them out Tuesday night with Prust sitting in the press box with the rest of the scrubs.

He did, he looked at us quick, and kept walking. One of the Montreal scratches gave us a joking wave, was pretty funny.

Lost in the shuffle, I don't remember seeing Miller come back after he was driven into the goal post. This would be 3 guys knocked out in 4 games and zero calls. With all the tight calls the habs were handed tonight, that Miller play is absolutely a penalty, as was obviously the Prust cheap shot. I mean you know it's bad when Montreal is the only Canadian team in the mix and Canadians are posting like this:

"Turn the hockey game on and a dive meet broke out. As a Canadian, I'm embarrassed by all the diving Montréal did. I'll be cheering for the Rangers the rest of the series."

"Habs remind me of the way Vancouver played that year against Bruins. They were embellishing and flopping all over the ice. Embarrassing to watch a Canadian team act like that. And the Refs are no better for letting it happen!!!"

How does the league continually allow this? I mean it's been going on so long and it's so damn blatant.

What an awesome end to a nail biter of a game. Was so nervous I felt sick:cry:
After watching that CBC clip from the last page of the game winner, I officially feel cheated for having to watch NBC! :p:
That footage was spectacular .

So, I feel like we close this out Tuesday. One thing I've noticed is the ice at MSG , while better than in years past, still kinda sucks. Pucks rolling , skaters wiping out. We looked a ton better offensively at Bell center which has great ice. I think with the momentum in our favor we should see a win more like games 1&2.

Oh Brass :laugh::laugh:

So good.

Moore was in way over his head. Guy should not be playing on the first line at all. I'd rather break up Brassard's line and put him on line one. Unless Stepan is only out for this one game, then I just cannot justify having Moore on the first line for future games.

You'll amputate that line, really. What are you thinking with? They even scored again last night.

They even nearly made Kevin Klein a playoff hero with some ridiculous passing. That wont happen on a line with Nash.

That was the hardest I have ever cheered in my life. Farthest the team has been in my time watching. I'll remember that goal for the rest of my life...

Need to close this out, though.

PS: So do I, Broon has poor fashion taste.

The Ranger team to go this far was...you guess it, the 1993-4 team.

Oh Baby, what a relief to get up to an OT win!

Tbh though, I have a presentation on wednesday ... so I might not catch the game that will send us to the SCF ... I have to think of something here.

Rangers outplayed and dominated Montreal almost all game in game 3 and lost. They stunk in game 4 and won. That's the hockey playoffs. Pouliot has been really good for us this season but he takes the dumbest penalties at times. Drives me nuts.

The main board is worth the read just to hear the endless excuse for the embellishments. See, subban didn't jump after the high stick. Kreider's stick was in his way so pk's skates flew back when they met. Uhhh, what? Emelin bending his stick in half - not a factor in kreider losing balance. Subban skates into a stick - causes him to nearly kick his own ass and launch into the air.

Miller dove.... uh, yeah we are a team of goalie hitters but our guy stops, holds up then jumps into the post when Markov *touches* him instead of taking the freebie to run tokarski. Hab fans are getting owned by impartial fans. Its great.

No dirty goals last night - no deflections or off scrambles in front to the net. And all three goals were scored to different open net areas - 5th whole, blocker side and glove side.
Poo is either hurt or mentally exhausted - there is got to be a connection between his penalty taking and maintenance days he received.
Klein has been more involved offensively for a couple of games now, definitely since the start of ECF, at least. Maybe something that the coaching team noticed / pointed out to him based on their review Habs videos from earlier series.
If we had lost game 4 it might have forced the Rangers to insert Stepan back into the line up on Tuesday. Now I think it's likelier that he returns only if necessary for game 6.
What a ride!

MSL's goal with the CBC feed. SO much better than NBC. Multiple angles of the goal, the celly, the team and management reaction. The crowd extends the goal song chant, you can hear the Goal and 3 stars announcement. CBC puts NBC coverage to shame!

Wow! Awesome coverage.

So its shoot high on Tokarski. MSL has beaten him high twice. Brassard beat him high. Hagelin beat him 5 hole. Pierre McGuire said there is room in the 5 hole. Tokarski comes out to challenge the shooter and cut down the angle. He goes down early. Tokarski lost his net a few times last night. Montreal takes away the cross crease pass. Tokarski got beat on the Nash goal moving side to side. Ray Emery had trouble going side to side and the Rangers feasted on the cross crease pass in the first 4 periods of the Flyers series. Even when Tokarski loses his net,Montreal does a good job taking away any options for the Rangers.

The Rangers need to play much more in game 5. Close out game. The Rangers haven't won a series in five games since 2008 against Jersey. The Rangers won games one and two on the road. Lost game 3 at home in OT. John Madden scored. Won game 4. Won game 5 on the road. Too many stupid penalties. Montreal won the Boston series on PP. They had 8 PPG in 7 games. They have 1 PPG in the first 4 games of this series. Some of their players play better in Montreal. Pacioretty was really good in Montreal. He was invisible in New York.

Jersey got the bounce of the puck in 2008

With their season pretty much hanging on the result, the Devils got down and dirty. With a chance to put a stranglehold on this series, the Rangers lost their grip.

There will be no payback sweep for the Rangers now - John Madden's good-fortune goal guaranteed that.

When it pinballed home off the skate of Rangers defenseman Marc Staal 6:01 into overtime, it lifted the Devils to a 4-3 victory in Game 3 of the teams' crackling Eastern Conference quarterfinal.

With the opportunity to take a 3-0 lead in the series after two victories in Newark, the Rangers rallied to tie in the third period but never threatened in a Devils-controlled overtime. And after an icing, though Brandon Dubinsky won a faceoff from Madden, Devils winger Jay Pandolfo darted in to tie up Rangers defenseman Michal Rozsival, freeing the puck.

Madden was first to it and he threw it in front from a sharp angle. It wasn't headed on goal until it struck Staal's right skate and ricocheted through the pads of Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.

It was the third Devils goal of the night that bounced past Lundqvist off a teammate. Lundqvist had allowed three goals to the Devils only once in his last 17 regular-season and playoff games against them.

Rangers won game 4 and 5. Very similar script to this series. Rangers need to close out the Habs tomorrow night and get a week off.

Poo is either hurt or mentally exhausted - there is got to be a connection between his penalty taking and maintenance days he received.

It looks like his entire right wrist and hand is taped up, wouldn't surprise me if got an issue with that.

Klein has been more involved offensively for a couple of games now, definitely since the start of ECF, at least. Maybe something that the coaching team noticed / pointed out to him based on their review Habs videos from earlier series.

Guy is a good skater when he gets himself moving, making pretty good pinches even if it's not resulting in a ton of offense cuz he's not a big scorer. Still not sure how to totally reconcile his advanced stats numbers with his play.

If we had lost game 4 it might have forced the Rangers to insert Stepan back into the line up on Tuesday. Now I think it's likelier that he returns only if necessary for game 6.
What a ride!

If he is able to play I'd like him to play, better chance to finish this series off and get more rest.

Yeah, Montreal has actually done a good job limiting second chances and protecting the front of the net, it's when they screw up and allow a breakaway or something that Tokarski is getting exposed a bit. Markov and Emelin continue to be a disaster defensively. I once thought Emelin was pretty good...:shakehead should have watched more Habs games I guess

MSL one of the biggest goals in Ranger History, Brass with a howitzer, Hags the best player on the ice, great win inspite of some of the worst officiating I have ever seen in 50 years of watching hockey...LGR!

With stepan out and miller too most likely, who is the next depth player behind Fast?

If Stepan is still out, I feel Fast or Lindberg will play. Most likely Fast. Fast can play on the 4th line better than Miller can, so even if Miller is healthy, Fast looks like the better option.

The Canadiens it seems to me are still having a major problem with the Rangers faster forwards. Boyle's long bomb to Hagelin and it's 1-0. Girardi's touchdown pass to Brassard and it's 2-1 and then Hagelin finds St. Louis all alone on the sidelines and it's game over. Just like 3 touchdown passes--and I'm not even much of a football fan.

The Rangers took way too many penalties in this one but their pk has been better than the Canadiens PK except for on one occasion. The penalties were deserving--some of them were pretty dumb and that's not good. Do not like the embellishing that a lot of Canadiens players do. The high stick against Subban--where his legs collapse under him--the high stick on Plekanec that didn't catch him in the face but made his head go back. Really--it's cheap and cheapens the game.

In the end the Rangers were resilient and hopefully we finish them off in their own barn on tuesday.

Any of you Rangers fans going to the next game in Montreal ?

If so...Cheer loud for your boys, have a blast and be careful !

I guess you already know the B's fans are cheering you on . I believe the Sens and Leaf fans are probably also.

Positive energy is a good thing.

GO RANGERS !!!
