the garden was shaking when marty was scored, which doesn't happen often in the "new" msg. Definitely up there in terms of rangers post-lockout moments at the garden.

why do i always sell the wrong tix???

I have been to my fair share of playoff wins, dramatic come from behind victories, but that goal right there was the biggest goal I have ever witnessed in person. The Garden was down, people were not confident, the fans were getting restless, tired of all the penalties, tired of the rangers failing to penetrate the neutral zone. The vibes were starting to get scary, then Marty gets the puck, time stops, then catches back up with an explosion of just pure raw joy spilling out of 18,000 people. It was insane. All that sloppy play, and lackluster 60 minutes of hockey was worth it because it set the stage for that release.

Don't know exactly what you are talking about. That was not 60 minutes of lackluster hockey.

18 minutes of penalties, how is that not a lackluster performance? Sure the PK was awesome, but come on. Sure, not all 60 mins was crappy, but they were starting to lose the fans. Also, I say lackluster in context of the series as a whole. It was just a sloppy game.

I was at the Zoo in Columbia, SC today wearing my Richter tee and a Rangers cap. Got stopped by a guy also wearing a Rangers hat and we had a nice little chat about hockey. Rarity for complete strangers in the Carolinas. In the middle of it, some guy just walks by and says "Rangers are the better team" and just kept going. It was awesome.

100% from Boston.

Amazing. Greatest moment I've ever had live at a Rangers game. The Garden was absolute bedlam after Marty's goal. Crowd was also great tonight throughout.

Funny, I thought they were terrible.

Best crowd was game 6 against Pitt.

Then Game 1 of this series.

Then Game 7 against Philly.

Then this game.

However, this one has had the best moment of the playoffs. Honestly, i wish I could have appreciated the moment and how the Garden was when Marty scored, but I was hugging about 300 strangers in my section.

Yeah, the fans around me were getting really restless late in the game and the mood was not exactly good for the 15 minutes of play before that goal. But that goal. Wow, that goal.

I think everyone was nervous this game. Not that the fans were "bad" but that everyone knew how important it was and was just scared ****less.

Usually I am rather loud at games, leading chants and such, but tonight I was quiet. I was just sick almost the entire game, especially in overtime.

I was in a pretty good section (227). Lots of guys trying to rile the crowd up and get loud. Everyone around me responded in a big way. Guess it's skewing my perception of it.

But man, that goal. Wow.

He was pretty awful tonight. Really inconsistent and the big problem with Pouliot is he's either pretty on or completely off. Rarely is there middle ground. I assume this is why he's bounced around with so many teams. Still have faith in him to turn it around, but he can't have another night like this, it's okay to not find the score sheet but you can't multiple penalties and especially offensive zone ones.

Is he hurt?

He has been sitting out practices etc. seems like he is banged up.

It wasn't that the crowd was bad, they rose to the occasion when needed. They got super loud during that last "let's make some noise" moment. They got loud after the second tying goal to try to get the rangers fired up. But there were large stretches of just pure fear and frustration with the rangers playing on their heels a bit and not able to break out of their zone.

I'm in 225, so I'm right near you. Not saying it was "bad" but certainly not the best of the playoffs.

Oh yea. That last shift by Hagelin was legendary. Great game, but that shift was one of the best I have ever seen.

I love how the Complaniens were supposed to beat us with their speed and the Rangers have just been flying past them.

NBC cripples the crowd volume. Just listen in between goals the crowds goes nuts and then a second later it sounds like the volume gets cut in half. If this was MSG i bet the volume would have a mountain-sized difference.
