Frankly, while I agree that attacking him on a personal level is low hanging fruit, I honestly dgaf how nice he is off the ice. Not one iota. I would rather have a player that is a completely selfish, unlikeable asshole that puts pucks in the net in the playoffs than a "nice guy", mental midget like Mitchy. Being a nice guy in the NHL (or in life in general) rarely gets you anywhere, when that is your strongest virtue. People will merely take advantage of you. Just ask Kyle Dubas.

This is a weird tangent to go on.

You know you can have a guy that's both right? And one isn't tied to another? In fact, most of the best hockey players (even ones that are seen as assholes on the ice) are known to be great people off the ice.

Regardless, I didn't say anything about on the ice. Im just addressing people that are throwing shit at pther human beings because theyre not winning a hockey game. Im a massive Leaf fan and I legitimately feel shitty after a loss, but I'd never attack these players personally like quite a few of the keyboard warriors here are doing.

Win 2 or 3 to make the players, coaches, management, ownership all think that they're very close to figuring it out and stick with the status quo for next year, only to get bounced out in some freakishly embarrassing way. And then we can do it all over again.

Of course. I've just gotten a little sick and tired of people defending the likes of Marner, Dubas, etc. because they seem like nice guys, as if that means anything. Lol. Not saying that's what you're doing, but I just had to let it out.

In a vacuum, Mitch is right that he and the team shouldn’t care what we fans or the media are currently sayings. We’re rightfully apoplectic and are carving these guys, they don’t need that negativity. I just flat out don’t believe him saying he doesn’t care or it’s not affecting him.

You wonder why they don't try to tap into that toxic negativity once in a while and try channeling it towards their goals especially when it is literally do or die. Look where the feel good cruise control has got them time and time again. See how it feels to be hungry, discounted and what it would mean to prove people wrong. Is that such a novel concept?

You know what would be really cool? Having the initiative, will, desire, passion, drive, determination, etc. to hear what the "haters" and doubters say, get pissed off and leave it all on the ice to shut them up. Unfortunately, you need to have a soul to be capable of this.

I fully expect this team to win 3 in a row,
and then lay an egg at home in game 7. It would be the ultimate troll job by a core that has trolled us for 7 years

When you really think about it, all they gotta do is win tomorrow, win at home, force a game 6, battle out a win back in Florida and then use the home crowd in a do or die game 7. It’s not impossible, but it’s gotta start Wednesday and the effort has to be over the top. I want to see this team fight for their season
Meanwhile expect the Panthers to fall asleep and let them ride..I doubt it.

Please change it so we can see who voted for the sweep. Over 50% of this “fan base” aren’t true fans. Shameful.

Absolutely embarrassing.

maybe its just not in there make up, maybe they simply cant deal with outside noise, and this is how they deal with it?

2% According to history. So, we can all hope.

You are going to want better than 50-1 odds if you lay a dollar on such an occurence. I bet the betting sites have it at +2500 or something absurd.

A fool and his money are soon parted...

The lineup moves for a must win game shouldn't be so intense but man this is beyond interesting.

I am in the camp of showout and look good for next run but this might be the straw that broke the camel's back.

The organization might get blown up because Keefe wants to play Holl on the top pair. This is a recording.

Honestly? I'm excited. It already feels like the season is fully over at this point... the last 48 hours I've had to remind myself there's still a game to be played.

As far as I'm concerned, this team's already dead and gone. So any hockey left to be played feels like house money at this point. Who knows... maybe this team does the unthinkable. Worst case we get swept - but we've embarrassed ourselves bad enough already, so what's left to lose?

Man f*** these guys.

Can't even enjoy the canes vs devils game. The commentators started discussing how Canes need to wrap the series up quick because it looks like Florida will get plenty rest for the ECF

My god. Who's watching the Carolina/NJ game tonight? Look at the pace they both play with. The Leafs don't have this in them. If they were in a series with one of these teams the way they've played this April and May, they would still be down 3-0, only the games wouldn't be close.

To be fair, Kerfoot could score a hattrick against Vanecek, NJ's goalie.

Lesbihonest, if you made 11 million dollars a year how hard would you look to tap into your 'killer' instinct?

How much more would they have to pay you to care if you won a Stanley Cup?

Me. 0 dollars. Especially since they made the ridiculous and overt effort to make sure my aav ended with 93.

Their goals? Do or die? Versus the fact that results don't matter?

They don't to me, if I'm #16.

That man has been fed hockey before he knew what the hell hockey was. Teammates probably were to. They were kids who were pushed through it with the highest pressure that could be exerted on child and managed to come out on top.

16 managed to get himself to a point where he gets paid 11 million dollars to play a game where the results don't matter.

We all remember 2013 when the Leafs came back from a 3-1 series deficit against Boston only to blow a 4-1 lead with 10 minutes left in game 7.

If something like that is in store, I'd rather lose tomorrow while my expectations are very low.

That team had way more grit
