I've been really impressed with Brassard's compete. He is completely clapped out but that A really means something to him and he is trying his best to keep this team in it every night. I did not expect that out of him.

Polar opposite of Stepan.

He's always been a high-compete guy. The questions are more about his ability to consistently produce offense. Regardless, he's been very good so far.

The nice thing about this years schedule is that since we play teams 2 or 4 games at a time, the coaches adjustments from game to game are more apparent. Under those circumstances, I believe that Tocchet gets closer and closer to looking for an assistant coaching job in his next stint.

We're seeing too much of last year in this game, but I still think we're having moments when we look pretty good. Worst game in the season, but I feel like this team can actually score two more goals. It's early in the season. Forgive my optimism.
