Definitely was looking for more from the top 2 lines. The thing is that there is no support from this bottom 6 for them, and you have Nemeth and Tinordi out there who have no clue what is going on. Then the next D pair has to clean up their mess and get them back on track only to have them get railroaded again.
I'm not sure what Lundkvist did to go to the pressbox, but he should be back in there against the Sharks. I'd play Jones too, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards if Nils is out there. Just go back to Nemeth-Lundkvist. It was working decently and wasn't a tirefire.
Team depth is definitely an issue. I really hope McKegg is done here. There is no reason for him to play. The 4th line actually was not that bad all things considered. Didn't generate much, but didn't give up much. Whatever you want to call that 3rd line was a horror show. We may not be thrilled with Gauthier or Hunt, but having them on the roster is super helpful considering the alternatives. Goodrow going down does not help either since he slides up and down the lineup.
Essentially played with a top 6 forward line from Hartford, a combo of their current 3rd, 4th, and a taxi squad guy, and an ECHL caliber pairing with our backup goalie. Gauthier could be back for the game Thursday if he had no symptoms, same for Shesterkin. Reaves is likely out Thursday. I'd keep the Hartford line and just bench McKegg for Gauthier, move Rooney to C.
