The Coyotes on the other hand still carry this attitude like they deserved better last year. They continue to blame reffing and god knows what else. Obnoxious as hell.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I think Doan and Co. think they're entitled to something they didn't earn. At least that's how it seems on the ice. Alternatively, it could be frustration from not knowing the future of their franchise, but I don't remember the Thrashers acting like that, or any other team moved previously.

At least you get to have seasons.

You want 30-40 degree weather with it going into the 20's and teens in winter? Lets switch places then lol.

Seasons are overrated ;)

This.

That's brutal! I'm already tired and it's only 10:30!

I get center ice every year so I can watch this team. It's painful at times but so worth it.

Thanks for joining!

Thanks for having me, I'll be around.

Can't wait to get home and watch the highlights of this one! This is one tough stretch for the Kings and to have 3 regulation wins is beautiful!

Even crazier? It's been 23 games since the Kings played an OT game. Unheard of since the shootout was added.

- Bernier was remarkable
- Doan is a little *****, so is Vermette
- Doughty was rock solid
- I hate that Sutter dislikes Toffoli. I feel like he never plays. Kid's been playing well, Sutter needs to relax on the guy. Even reading his press quotes on Toffoli, he never gives him credit.

Though it is great for the fans to have someone new to cheer Toffoli is a liability 5 on 5. He is a terrible skater and very weak along the boards. He is so soft that he makes Kopitar look like a goon.
Hey I am rooting for the kid but I don't blame Sutter for using a veteran late in tight games.

Sutter doesn't hate Toffoli. he is a rookie and has to earn the ice time. 2 GP, 1 G and 1 A doesn't mean anything to a coach in a tight inter division game. Sutter will push the guys over the boards that have earned that right. TT will have to earn that opportunity.

if Sutter hates anything i am sure it is all the questions relating to TT.

I had the Phoenix feed last night. The whining from their announcers was continual. When a King hit a Yote, it was a collision. When a Yote hit a King, it was a massive hit to send a message. When Muzzin and Doan collided that it should have been a 5-minute major, compounded by the next penalty that the Kings took which would have made it a 5 on3, etc. etc. etc.

It's no wonder the team whines that much.

I think most coaches would put the vet in at the end of a close and heated game. At least when the young guy was a recent call up. If Toffoli had been in the lineup all year long, that's one thing. But these are his first couple NHL games, and you've got a pissed off Coyotes team with Doan running around, and the ever present flying elbow knows as Raffi Torres out there.

Today, give me the veteran that's been through the battle before. Toffoli will get his chance over the long term.

I agree, he's gonna have to get stronger along the boards. I'm not as worried about his skating.

It's the us-against-the-world mentality that the Coyotes have cultivated. It's what put them in the playoffs 3 years in a row. It's what helped them get to the conference finals last year.

No owner. Don't know if the franchise will be in Phoenix from year to year. I imagine that stuff just builds and builds as time goes on. You really feel like everyone is sort of out to get you.

Not to mention the Coyotes are in a battle for 8th right now. Plus the Kings did derail their playoff run last year. It seems like neither team likes each other. It's going to bring out emotions. Even Bob Miller got caught up in it last night on the Kings broadcast.

I was born and raised in Phoenix and can tell you that many people in Phoenix have a massive chip on their shoulder regarding anything to do with Southern California. It irks them even more when a team from LA smokes their local heroes.

I couldn't read the garbage on the Phoenix board anymore about the Muzzin/Doan collision. Someone posted a video and I'm paraphrasing, "Muzzin is looking at Doan the entire time." Clearly when you watch the video, Muzzin is watching the puck, and sees Doan just a split second before contact.

Yeah, didn't understand what Chase was yammering about tonight. He usually is pro-Kings. He had us in his personal top five in power rankings just last night and said we weren't getting enough love. Shrug.

That post game quote from Doan is exactly why most of the hockey world is in love with him. He can get carried away and do Pejorative Slured crap in-game, but hours, days, etc. after the fact usually presents a level head. It's exactly why I vacillate between utter contempt and begrudging respect for the guy myself.

Whatever. We come away with four points and the Coyotes are on the brink because of it.

And yes, throw me into the "Coyotes are bigger whiners than Vancouver" camp. I gained a lot of respect for Henrik Sedin after last year's series. Say what you want about the guy but he showed up, took a brutal hit from Brown in game three, and kept on pushing. Vancouver was seriously humbled last year and you see it reflected in their fan base. I still hate them, strongly, but not as much as a couple years ago. They were thoroughly weighed, measured, and found lacking - and they all know it. Can't ask for much more than that in a rivalry.

Agree 100 percent.

I almost had it. missed a period she said.

You almost had it without the goal. I don't know why your prediction stuck in my mind, but Doughty got an open shot from the point with 12:10 to go in the first and, for some strange reason, your prediction just popped into my head. I didn't remember it was you who made it, but I knew I'd read someone saying 7 minutes into the 1st.

Someone see's exactly what I am seeing. Excited for the kid, don't get me wrong.

The line makeup is all wrong, Toffoli needs someone like Stoll or Lewis. Lewis can do all the work down low, and feed pucks to Toffoli floating around.

But you don't want to break up King/Stoll/Lewis, they are dominate right now.

Twice last night, they said they needed to take a breath and calm down because they were so pissed off with 'bad calls'. I understand homerish, but this was just like a couple of fans screaming at the television. They need to take a chill pill, they were acting like the Coyotes were facing the Legion of Doom :shakehead

It's like having two Carters on one line. Great with the puck, but not strong on the boards, and two guys going to soft spots on the ice.

Kid looks good, clearly has lots to learn, have a feeling he'll be sent down with this as a learning experience...will come back like a bull in a china shop :)

Hey Knight not sure if you know how to skate but doesn't TT look like those guys you see at the rink just learning to skate :laugh::laugh:He looks so unsure starting out but when he gets going he is fine. I guess it even looks worse when you see Carter flying around with no effort.

That is what most likely will happen, nothing wrong with that.

Let Toffoli get his 9 games in, then send him to the AHL with a checklist for next year's camp.

Would like to see Kozun up at some point, that kid can Fore-Check.

I don't see TT getting 9 games in a shorten season. I'm kind a hoping he gets sent down soon. Much rather have Penner on the 2nd line and Nolan back in 4RW.

Penner is playing very well, kudos to the man.

He also never complains, love that in a Hockey player.
