Though it is great for the fans to have someone new to cheer Toffoli is a liability 5 on 5. He is a terrible skater and very weak along the boards. He is so soft that he makes Kopitar look like a goon.
Hey I am rooting for the kid but I don't blame Sutter for using a veteran late in tight games.

This is just silly.

It's going to be exciting if Vey and Pearson make the team in the next two years.

Pearson/Vey/Toffoli was dominate in Manchester. Pearson handles all the board work down low (keeps pucks alive), Toffoli floats and scores, Vey is the F3 handles the 200ft game for the line.

That line was just awesome.

AHL defenders had a hard time handling those guys.

Twice last night, they said they needed to take a breath and calm down because they were so pissed off with 'bad calls'. I understand homerish, but this was just like a couple of fans screaming at the television. They need to take a chill pill, they were acting like the Coyotes were facing the Legion of Doom :shakehead

I sit just about 15 to 20 feet above both the visitors' announcers booth and Bob and Jim. At the end of the game, I was yelling at the two of them: "How come your team cries so much during the game? Didn't you guys learn anything from last years' playoffs?"

They failed to acknowledge my rants. But I know they heard me. :)

Man does playign the Cryotes get my blood boiling like not other team .Always a heated game.
Doan was like a recking ball, had a tonne of great hits (probably not going to give me a lot of fans on here but I figure you have to give the devil his due). Doan plays with an edge and a **** load of heart. He is a very emotional player and when things are not going right this leads to frustration as exhibited last night. I do not understand how he did not get a penalty for going after muzzin. Muzzin should have fought him, let doan get the instigator and then they do not score their two goals.
Truthfully I hate playing against Doan, but I would quickly love him if he played that way in a Kings uni.

I'm fixated on the ladies in front, and by ladies, I do not mean the Coyotes fans holding up signs.

Am I the only preson who actually thought Shane Doan dove about 3 or feet in the air when our cheap shot artist Jake Muzzin intentionally tried to end his career? In all seriousness, to me it looked totally bogus and completely embellished. I honestly believe that the whole thing was rigged by Doan to fire up his bench and give the team a purpose. He put a needless bounty on Muzzin's head and the referees were completely out to lunch in this game.

It's hard to stay objective when you have a dog in the fight... but man o' man you guys should read the cryotes board.

Oh yeah. It was a dive! 100% no doubt about it. I mean look at him he was all curled up in a ball (btw the shane when one hurts his knee he generally doesn't sit on his knees) and then all of sudden he realizes there is no whistle he jets right back up and try's to fight Muzzin who is completely bewildered to what's going on.

That's Shane Doan. The best thing he can do to inspire his team is to cheat. Dave Tippet Hockey! Right after Doan's dive 2 other Coyotes dove. OEL's "high sticking" and I think it was Chipchura's "tripping". Which may have been a trip but he embellished it like crazy!

So to recap:

  • OEL fakes a high stick to his face, draws a penalty.
  • Doan drops the gloves and goes after Muzzin, no penalty given.
  • And Tippett whines that the Kings got away with some bad calls.
Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm.

It's the us-against-the-world mentality that the Coyotes have cultivated. It's what put them in the playoffs 3 years in a row. It's what helped them get to the conference finals last year.

No owner. Don't know if the franchise will be in Phoenix from year to year. I imagine that stuff just builds and builds as time goes on. You really feel like everyone is sort of out to get you.

Not to mention the Coyotes are in a battle for 8th right now. Plus the Kings did derail their playoff run last year. It seems like neither team likes each other. It's going to bring out emotions. Even Bob Miller got caught up in it last night on the Kings broadcast.

I think the reality is that people feel sorry for them.

Not only do most fans hate us, but alot of the so called announcers and analysts. I thought they fell in love with ever winning team, they make everything we do look wrong. I don't get why ours is having the negative effect.

For every example of transgression a team may commit, there is a counter-example to it for the other team, and a counter-example to that, and another counter-example to that, etc, etc.

Every team tries to get away with what they can. That's why refs exist. The Kings aren't innocent. The Coyotes aren't innocent. That's why both teams don't like each other. That's what makes it fun. Especially when the Kings beat the Coyotes.

Yeah but to whine about your team getting the short end of it when that team and coaching staff have to know they tried to get away with it? That's the sad part of that team.

That high stick to OEL is worthy of a freaking Oscar for best actor. Holy ****. And that Doan knee injury comes in a close second. Utterly classless. :shakehead

I really want a GIF of the OEL dive, for the next time the Cryotes fans talk about Brown's embellishing.

When a reporter asked if the Coyotes whine too much our coach said "I'm trying to get our guys not to whine so much"

THAT'S how you answer that question in the NHL.

If you guys have about 10 free minutes (that should be enough time considering the yotes GDT for 2 games is only about 10 pages long) go have a read, hilarity is ensuing over there.

Dis anyone else think that the tripping call on Stoll was also kinda iffy? Can't remember which Coyote it was, but apparently his balance is even worse than Brown's.

Haha ya I agree with this. In the interest of tryign to be unbiased I have tosay that I was surprised that Penner didn't get a penatly when he was stickign up for Kopitar. Seemed like a third man in sort of thing.
After the Muzzin Doan thing there were a lot of case of hits that were late or high on Muzzin that could have been called.
Also Torres goign to Doughty at the horn was BS as well. Proof that Torres will never change the way he plays.

You're absolutely right. The Kings aren't innocent when it comes to getting away with calls, but Tippett needs to look at his own team's breaks before whining about missed calls.

Obviously, especially OEL. But if Tippett complaining about it maybe gets them a call down the road, it's worth it for them. I'd say treat most of it as white noise.

I'm not saying the Coyotes don't annoy me as a fan. Some of them more than others. OEL selling the phantom high stick, it's part of the dance I guess. Doan's theatrics are a bit much, since he gives as much as he gets. Muzzin standing in his way is better than some of the shots Doan has given to other players. When Torres becomes a human missile, that's excessive. Smith, nothing even needs to be said there.

Best way to be able to ignore it is for the Kings to win. The Kings got the 2 wins, they got the 4 big points. If the Coyotes want to whine about it, what can you do? Like Doan said after he calmed down, the Kings found a way to win last night. That's all that matters.

It's hockey. It's physical. It's emotional. Things will be said, and things will be done. A win is a win though.
