Huh, I didn't realize there were Coyotes fans. :sarcasm:

There is always a stray dog somewhere to be found around downtown l.a. Must have wandered in.

Almost as many Yotes fans at the game from what I could see as there are at their own home games.

Big empty stadium for all of the Pho hardcore faithful. Way worse than it was for the Kings during the mid/late 70's and 80's (pre 99).

if someone has the time and the game recorded. go look after Doan's career ending injury for the following. i didn't do it last night and don't have time to check gamecenter.

there was an LA push with Kopi carrying the puck, iirc he is between the LA blue line and center ice. at game speed it looked maybe like the PHX forechecker may have extended a leg trying to get Kopitar. Kopi danced around him, which made the attempted hit look so obvious and strange.

there may be more there than Muzzin's hit

i just didn't go back and review it

I've seen several people mention that Toffoli should "get his 9 games" in this thread and others. Just want to clarify for everyone that the 9-game rule does not apply to Toffoli.

I'm fixated on the ladies in front, and by ladies, I do not mean the Coyotes fans holding up signs.

Wow, their entire fanbase came to the game. That's pretty impressive.

Love the post-game comment from Sutter on sending out the 5 players he did at the end of the game. That he was sending his 5 best players out there to defend the lead. Kopi wins the face-off, then they clear the zone and win the game.

What was great is that when I saw Kopi, Richards and Carter move to the face-off circle, I thought, this game is over. 3 forwards who can win face-offs, are defensively responsible and are good with their sticks. Couple that with our best shutdown pairing over the last few years and I felt pretty good about it. Little things like that are what I love about Sutter. Maybe other coaches would've sent out their shutdown line, but Sutter sends out the 3 best centers on the team at once.

I'd say more embellishes than dives with Brown though...

I tried to make a point of that on the Stars board last week, and they ripped me for it.

Going down easily when you are legitimately tripped/hooked/ etc. is not the same as throwing your helmet and searching for missing teeth when you never got hit in the face.

Good post.

The thing I love about Sutter are his adjustments, earlier in the year we got burned in Detroit and Edmonton because we had the wrong players out there.

I think you'll see those three out there in the final minute protecting a lead. They can all take draws, they are our three smartest forwards, they are sound defensively and won't take penalties or be out of position. The Kings don't have a shutdown line, but something better, two excellent defensive centers on the scoring lines.

Because he's 20 yrs old.

And because he was recalled from Manchester, not a Junior team, so he gets a year off of his ELC regardless of where he plays, AHL or NHL.

But yes, they did change it for the shortened season. I think they changed it to 5 or 6 games.

I remember seeing that at the game and thought, these clowns better not injure anyone because the freaking refs let Moan go crazy on Muzzin.

Hey guys, why are we playing the Cryotes 5 times? Weren't divisional games reduced to 4 per team this season?
If they had gotten things figured out soon enough for a 50-game season, it would have been three games against non-divisional conference opponents (3x10=30) and five games each against divisional opponents (5x4=20). They couldn't, and so in the 48-game schedule, each team plays two divisional opponents five times each, and the other two divisional opponents four times each.

Long story short? "Luck". The Kings get San Jose and Anaheim four times each, and Dallas and Phoenix five times each.

You almost had it without the goal. I don't know why your prediction stuck in my mind, but Doughty got an open shot from the point with 12:10 to go in the first and, for some strange reason, your prediction just popped into my head. I didn't remember it was you who made it, but I knew I'd read someone saying 7 minutes into the 1st.

I don't know why but it happens qiute often that when I'm guessing things like this for instance. I'm right or pretty close. But i can't force it.

I'm happy for him.

Btw . He will score next game again.

That would be forum suicide. Some boards take offense to things like that more than others.

I posted a harmless comment in Phoenix's new uniform thread and it was deleted almost immediately.

These will be their new uniforms next season

I hope that the yotes don't end up in Seattle. Its a great hockey area and they deserve a good team. I would rather see them build through an expansion draft. Same with Quebec though too. Let the dirt dogs move to Salt Lake. They would do great there.

I hope that when Seattle does get a team that they find a great name like the Thunderbirds have out there. The Totems doesn't really work. ;)
