Very unexpected result. Canada got the better players over all but didn’t get the team working as one unit, one fist. One big problem Canada had imo was the constant space between forwards and defence. That must be put on the coach.

People saying FIN was lucky AF could not be more mistaken.

Having watched FIN over the years and their "unlucky" losses in important games I can say the better team nearly always wins. FIN was marginally a better team.

They were lucky. Dobson’s stick shattered. If he didn’t that would have ended the game right there...

Also the game tying goal was a deflection off the shin.

The fins won with two VERY lucky bounces. That being said they were the better team. But make no mistake, luck was a major factor for Finland today

I mean... At that level, unless there's a Crosby or something on the team, the "victim" should always be the one taking the shot.

He wasn't able to take the shot cause he got hurt in the play. Otherwise Canada wouldn't have had a chance to change the shooter. From IIHF rules:

In cases where a skater is fouled in a manner that warrants a penalty shot, the skater fouled must take the penalty shot. If he is injured and unable to take the shot, any non-penalized skater who was on the floor at the time of the infraction may take it.

That situation today reminded me a lot of the WJC semi-final in 2014 when Henrik Haapala got slashed in a breakaway and hurt his finger. Finland put Teuvo Teräväinen to take the shot instead of him and the Canadian coach was absolutely livid cause he thought Haapala should have taken it.

Originally came here to say this. Without Canada I imagine they take a huge dive, at least if they were to lose in the semi's TSN would at least get to pump up the bronze medal game. Heck even Sweden isn't gonna be there. Finland-Switzerland semi-final? How about nah.

show some respect.. Canada's out but I will stillbe watching that semi final.. Switzerland never been to final before will be interesting.

Congrats to Finland - they never stopped working and they were rewarded with the W - close game and the better team tonight won.

Who passed the puck to Dobson at the end there?

How did Dobson play in the tournament overall? He was great in the summer showcase.
My own opinion is that he was good but also just felt the entire team was off and nobody really got to feed off a team that was clicking.
Lots here will say he was not good at all, but hey that's the way it always is with opinions :thumbu:
