They outplayed Canada for long time but I see it more as a coin flip.

It was more like 60-40 for Canada but that's still extremely good for Finland. I doubt they've ever been able to play Canada so evenly in the WJC in North America.

To0 bad Canada always has a few players that are eligible to play but their NHL teams don't loan them to team Canada. I know every Country has this potential issue but it never feels like we are icing our best possible team. Guess that's just the way it goes.

Considering the Fins were without Heiskanen, Kotkaniemi and Vesalainen, probably 3 players better than anyone that Canada was missing, this point isn't really accurate.

If you let the World Juniors Chsmpionships ruin your night, let alone your Holidays I feel bad for you. I watch this tournament to scout more than anything.

It doesn't really mean much to me.
I get it bro, you are in denial. Acceptance is the second phase. Just let it sink and it will all be over soon. Let it sink.

Looked forward to seeing Comtois, and was ok with him being captain.

Looking back, I don't think I've ever 'hated' a junior player more

Seriously the most shit tournament for him .

Welp, that's what you get when you run a bland system that relied on the forwards going super individualist, with the defence never activating or really being a part of the play.

Comtois had way too much icetime in this tournament.
Ridiculous isn't it?. reminds me of when wild willie attached his horse to the Patrice Cormier wagon. A useful player but not someone to build the team around. Not even close.

The Canadian hockey system needs an overhaul.

The results from the USNTDP and other national training programs in other countries are undeniable.
Canada really can't do anything like the USNTDP. In fact other countries don't have the financial resources the USNTDP have as they receive millions from the NHL.

The problem with Hockey Canada is they're run by the same type of people as the Edmonton Oilers.

An old boys club in it for their own greed.

Also, doesn't help that youth hockey in Canada is decreasing. Just look at the lack of talent from Quebec.

That's why I laugh when yahoos on here say you can't grow the game in Canada. The NHL's mandate is to grow the game in the US, not Canada.

As for the game, I congratulate the Finns. The gold is now the US's to lose. IMO they're the team to beat.

One of the worst coaching approaches I've seen. The Canadian players played well and did everything they were asked of but the system was flawed from the get go. So many questionable decisions made by the Canadian staff, it was painful to watch.

Glass, the no look pass was insane.

Thanks !

I guess it was Ty Smith but if it was a forward, no idea.

Apparently it was Glass.

That was a nice pass - that had goal written all over it.

Also nice play by Bouchard to create that penalty shot.

In general I thought the Finns had better passing in OT - they could really control the puck for long stretches of time.
