They were lucky. Dobson’s stick shattered. If he didn’t that would have ended the game right there...

Also the game tying goal was a deflection off the shin.

The fins won with two VERY lucky bounces. That being said they were the better team. But make no mistake, luck was a major factor for Finland today

Luck is a factor in hockey, 2006 Olympic finals Saku Koivus stick broke in the first face-off of the 3rd and Sweden scored from the offense that occurred because of that.

To0 bad Canada always has a few players that are eligible to play but their NHL teams don't loan them to team Canada. I know every Country has this potential issue but it never feels like we are icing our best possible team. Guess that's just the way it goes.
I don't think there are really any notable players for Team Canada that are in the NHL this year. Good try, though.

I was wondering why the hell Makar wasn’t on this team. He was on the team last year.

He declined the Olympic team as well. Probably had enough with how Hockey Canada dealt with him.

Also too old this time.

Congrats to Finland - they never stopped working and they were rewarded with the W - close game and the better team tonight won.

Who passed the puck to Dobson at the end there?

I guess it was Ty Smith but if it was a forward, no idea.

Originally came here to say this. Without Canada I imagine they take a huge dive, at least if they were to lose in the semi's TSN would at least get to pump up the bronze medal game. Heck even Sweden isn't gonna be there. Finland-Switzerland semi-final? How about nah.
Let’s have a moment of silence for the ticket scalpers as well. They won’t be able to give tickets away.

This game was so bad. Even though Finland won, that really was dreadful to watch. One of these games where neither team deserved to win... Quite a fluke for Finland to face an opponent of such level after coming in third.

Yeah I was feeling the same way. Could have scripted that better. No complaints about result but the way it came to be.

Lol, that was actually Utunen's first goal of the season.

And he just said "No season without a goal, right?" in the interview

Finland with one of the flukiest goals I have ever seen and Canada with the broken stick. Damn it would’ve been in had it didn’t break.

Regardless overall, Canada was off this year and not as good as last year.

For some reason I didn't care about the tournament as much this year

In previous years I would be gutted but now it just feels like whatever

I don't get how the TSN panel says this is one of the most heartbreaking losses. It really wasn't. O'Dog just nailed it. 2 goals in 2 games. No offense. DiPietro made them look better than they should have been. Always next year!

It’s not heart breaking when it isn’t surprising.

Disappointing sure, but not heart breaking.

The way they lost. It wasn't as bad as 2010 vs Russia but it's still p bad.
