People saying FIN was lucky AF could not be more mistaken.

Having watched FIN over the years and their "unlucky" losses in important games I can say the better team nearly always wins. FIN was marginally a better team.

They need to start taking the best players possible at the time they are available. No more of this summer camp bull**** it doesn’t work. Go back to the old days where you take the best CHL players in December regardless of who they are.

And don't refuse to play one of your best players because he's not playing CHL ala Makar.

I would like to say Canada deserved better but they didn't - DiPietro did, but no one else showed up including the coaches. Even the round robin Canada looked lackluster for a lot of it.

I think there are some good forwards there. Not elite like in the past but good enough to be the best in the tournament.

Canada just didn’t shoot the puck enough. Their shot selection was brutal. Shot the puck when they were covered or passed when they had a wide open shot.

To0 bad Canada always has a few players that are eligible to play but their NHL teams don't loan them to team Canada. I know every Country has this potential issue but it never feels like we are icing our best possible team. Guess that's just the way it goes.

Originally came here to say this. Without Canada I imagine they take a huge dive, at least if they were to lose in the semi's TSN would at least get to pump up the bronze medal game. Heck even Sweden isn't gonna be there. Finland-Switzerland semi-final? How about nah.

Outside of that 5-1 win vs Czechs this team didn’t play a single impressive game all tournament. They deserved to lose this one 4-1.

It just further shows how close teams are. One blown up stick on an empty net, and Canada wins. Or how Swiss beat Sweden.

Feels good to steal a game like this, last year I felt like we dominated the Czechs but ended up losing. Canada was able to control the game more and effectively shut Finland down in the third, but I don't think the game was lopsided either way. Both teams had their chances, and Finland even had more shots.
