Jeannot is back? Thought he was likely done for the year, I guess Briesbois gets a chance to vindicate himself for the 3rd straight time.
Looking at the Tampa roster, their 1st line is super overpowered. I would take their top line over any other teams, including Edmonton.
What's interesting is that after the 1st line, the other 9 forwards are all gritty role players who know their job and cause matchup nightmares. It is really looking like a team built for the playoffs as long as the top line keeps scoring.
The Lightning learned after 2019 that they need to be a total pain in the ass to play against, and just let Point and Kucherov cook otherwise.
Even that vaunted 3rd line of Coleman, Gourde, and Goodrow never really
had to chip in that much on offense. In 2021 they had 11, 7, and 6 points and we won the Cup. Granted, 2020 it was 13, 14, and 6 points.
But when Kucherov gets 66 points and Point scores 28 goals in 2 postseasons, their most important role is just to be a pain in the ass. JBBs additions the last few years have all shared that trait.
