Lol second game of the year and we're talkin who we getting at the top of the draft already. I love it.

I'm still trying to figure out Purcell and Gilbert. A soft forward past his prime cast off by bad hockey teams and a soft dman past his prime cast off by one of, if not, the worst defensive hockey team in the league. Why?

I can't think of a worse period of hockey in years. Just flat out embarrassed themselves on opening night when they celebrate their 50th year.

All that could be afforded with little cap space. I mean Versteeg was really the only other option out there, for cheap scoring.

Versteeg gets hurt, a lot.

Pretty much. Those are both bridge players. Is this a bridge player team?

Er, yep.

Getting blown out by SJ game one in 2014. I don't think a single period of that game was good.

It was bedlam all the way around. Sharks scored six goals before the Kings even knew what was going on.

Anybody have Dean Lombardi's email address? We should probably send him an email.

and tell him to do what?

trade brown?
have him play our lord savior Dowd?
find a decent goalie for tree fitty to fit under the cap?
send a holistic healer to Gaborik and Quick's house?
fire Sutter?
replace Nolan with another useless plug?

what?? tell me whattt

Everything has been like the worst possible scenario the last few years. Voynov. Richards. Brown. The Sekera trade, they don't even make the playoffs, and he walks. Lucic, they make the playoffs, he doesn't score, they go out quietly, and he walks. This time that Quick gets hurt, it's not even a game before they can't play defense, whereas a few years ago, that wasn't the story.

Sometimes you have to take a few steps back in order to get ahead. This might be one of those instances. And I'm not just talking about this game singularly.

The events stretching to their elimination from playoff contention in 2014-15 to them blowing the division lead after clinching a playoff berth in 2015-16 to how they've opened this season is all mounting to a big "culture changing" move that needs to be addressed. This **** is unacceptable.

Purcell reminds me of Trent Hunter, a Decent bottom six producing guy, past his prime.

He doesn't really do, anything well.
