The 15-4 scoring chances in favor of the Poitras line is nuts. The numbers for the line of Marchy-Coyle-DeBrusk seem to match what we're seeing on the ice.

Nice to win both our games after giving up the 1st goal, not easy to do in this league. It will take some time for this team to gel, but they are a competitive bunch with great goaltending, solid D and enough scoring to get the job most nights.

Coyle/Zacha lines playing against top lines so it's expected but Poitras line is killing it.

Anyone else think that Heinen could help ?
I know one fan who would be a big Yes and another fan would be big No....lol

Sway said JVR is a phenomenal person and has fit right in since day one. Tells me all I need to know about how the guys feel about him.
He's not, and shouldn't be a first liner, but that's where we are. If we have to force someone there, might as well be someone who's in front of the net all game long and can bury second chances. Worked tonight and I'm willing to bet it'll work for many more.

Really great signing. Not sure you'd be able to find a better bang for your buck than him.

Another game down, another game of Poitras looking like an NHLer. He definitely got targeted a few times physically, but he keeps popping back up and staying in the play. This upcoming road trip will be a big test for him, cause for these first two games Monty has been able to give him relatively easy matchups. The Coyle line has handled the brunt of the tough defensive minutes while the third line has been deployed more offensively. Won't get those easy matchups on the road though. Excited to see if he can handle it.

Poor start and we still seem a little off in our timing but they rallied after all the penalties and got it done. Safe to say we will be in a lot of these close ones this year.
Poitras got a little roughed up in this one but seemed to handle it okay so that was good. JVR still surprising me.
Marchand still fighting it though. Clearly missing his buddy Patrice and maybe, despite how great we all know he was, we still underestimated his value. That line has to get better for us to really succeed.

Welcome to Boston JVR!

Swayman was terrific

I never thought that I would be cheering for JVR but I am happy he is on the team.

We were hoping Poitras would get his first goal tonight.

The fans were NOT happy with the guys in stripes tonight. Did you hear them chanting "Refs you suck and BULLSHIT"? It was pretty loud, and I wasn't sure if they would let that be heard on TV.

Thing I like about JVR is he's gets inside to the greasy areas around the net. How long have we heard that the Bruins need to get to the inside ice? JVR is a master at it and he's surrounded by better players now. JVR will get you that dirty, slimy, greasy goal when you need it!

Heard the chants on tv and I figured that's pretty much what they were but couldn't tell exactly, on my setup anyway.

We couldn't make out "Refs you suck" but we could hear "bullshit."
