I knew Englund was a goon, but not to this extent. he literally hits everything that moves, even his own goalie! lol should play Zhura instead of this dude. or even play with 5 Ds.
He will forever be the most underrated hero of their Cup run, too. They don't win the thing without a handful of guys and he's right near the top of the list.Frankie is just the perfect backup. He finds ways to win. Dudes rocking a career 38-17-5 record with a .921 SV%.
He's likable, and I think the team loves the guy. He puts up a performance like tonight and steals a game, there's going to be some players hopefully doing a little reflecting and come out extra motivated for Washington.
The roster is having its J-B weld repairs replaced by bondo, now being held together by duct-tape. I get it, but every single guy is signed to a professional contract and a 30.78 xGF% at even strength is not going to cut it.
Edmonton sweep, never forget!!He will forever be the most underrated hero of their Cup run, too. They don't win the thing without a handful of guys and he's right near the top of the list.
That's a weird take by Jared. I think he kinda wanted to downplay Englund's gaffe. If I was in charge his ass would be on a slow bus back to Colorado. Not good. Why is he throwing Frank under the bus and not the dumb ass that jumped and hit his goalie leading to the tieing goal? The same Frank that stole 2 points for you? Cmon Jared.
Great game by Frankie. Always seems to be calm in net. Where is that Frankie hater these days anyways? Might not want to look at the goalie stats.

It may be that Jared knows England will be on the ice in DC and wants him to keep his head in the game. That's a weird take by Jared. I think he kinda wanted to downplay Englund's gaffe. If I was in charge his ass would be on a slow bus back to Colorado.
Had Raanta stopped all 15 shots...I think it's crazy that on a night of the Avs only getting 15 SOG, it's the 'Canes who are the lucky ones to get out of the evening with a point.
Had Englund not collided with Francouz, that Necas goal doesn't happen and Colorado very likely wins in regulation.
And how Carolina media at the game couldn't vote Frankie first star is just petty or stupid. Not that it's all that meaningful, but come on...
Had Raanta stopped all 15 shots...
I mean sure a win is nice, but I can also not like anything about it or feel frustrated by it.People really mad at this win? Lol. Just take the 2 points and move on. This team is depleted nevermind the lack of depth before the injuries.
I agree with this. Everyone knows 88 was at fault in his collision with Frank that led to a goal.It may be that Jared knows England will be on the ice in DC and wants him to keep his head in the game.
Englund owes Newhook a nice dinner for taking away his GWG. Frankie was in the Canes collective head, that game was over.

Even if that's the case, 88 still needs to be able to control himself a little better and not just plow the goalie.Englund yelled at Frankie to leave the puck, Frankie heard him but decided to play the puck anyway. I wouldn't crucify Englund for this.
Yeah it was to diffuse the situation. Jared could have left it has miscommunication w/o blaming Frankie for "handling the puck too long" which isn't true.It may be that Jared knows England will be on the ice in DC and wants him to keep his head in the game.

I don't know. A lot of starters are struggling. I think Francouz could have quite many teams after him. Not sure if he should be the starter though. Might be too much pressure for him. I think this situation seems ideal for him. Just my view of him. Not that he doesn't deserve bigger contract. He definitely does.Francouz and the Avs are perfect for each other
At his age and experience level, no other teams will be clamouring for him as their starter, so there’s appeal to the security in Colorado. And with the amount of games we expect him to usually play, he can stay at a high level - his play would likely level off if he was asked to shoulder a starting role. And he’s proven that in short durations, he can absolutely dominate
Truly the ideal backup goaltender for a competitive roster
Still don't understand why Brad Hunt hasn't been called-up. He's not the greatest but with 241 games of NHL experience, he at least stands a chance to be better than some of these shitters. Are they afraid to put him back through waivers ?I knew Englund was a goon, but not to this extent. he literally hits everything that moves, even his own goalie! lol should play Zhura instead of this dude. or even play with 5 Ds.
Oh yeah, there were those and then also the 'secret shots' that apparently don't count as shots on net. That was a pretty pathetic job by whoever is doing that at PNC Arena.Had Raanta stopped all 15 shots...
I’d rather go 1-5 but win in St Louis. **** those guys.5-1 in November. Pretty solid record all things considered. Props to Bednar for having a system that works even when a bunch of guys are out.
No you wouldn'tI’d rather go 1-5 but win in St Louis. **** those guys.
I’m convinced the moment the Avs won game six against the Bolts and secured the Stanley Cup you still found something to bitch about. Are you f***ing me? That was pathetic.
Frank you were a god tonight, everyone else dogshit.
Not even that happy we won, completely undeserved.
To me he always looks like he needs a wash. Maybe a decent haircut would sort him out. Nobody can pull off the weird helmet look like Nichushkin, but at least he's large enough to make it work. It's probably not enough to want to trade the guy, but I really don't like how Newhook wears his helmet on his head.
Cheer up m8Even if that's the case, 88 still needs to be able to control himself a little better and not just plow the goalie.
That being said we're talking a middle to bottom pairing AHL guy, I fully expect dumbass stuff like this to happen. There is a reason he won't play in the NHL much.
Not really worried about a career minor leaguer making a dumb play.
He was part of the 100% AHL line.Major Blidh had a Corsi of 10%(!!!).
