Now take out the 5k freebies per year. I guess you think the Pens went bankrupt and were threatening to leave for a good 5-6 years "just because," right? :shakehead

They were never going to leave. It's was all politics for a new arena, and politics don't work unless you show them you are serious. And guess what? The politics worked. There was no way a city with that high of ratings for hockey was going to leave the city.

I actually think the Penguins did it right -- They instituted something called the "student rush" and allowed students $20 tickets for best available seats left on the day of the game. It created a really young, ravenous fanbase. You can see it around the city today. The older crowd loves the Steelers, but the younger fans are Penguin diehards.

Apologies, I don't know the rules regarding visiting other boards. Attempting to stay civil as I like to talk to fans of other teams, and I like answering questions/claims by other fanbases. I hope for the best for Karlsson, and I wish the Senators the best. Love Turris and Anderson.

So does Chris Neil get his first(?) suspension for the late roughing?
Wouldn't that be a good one, Neil get a game and Cooke nothing.

Honestly after the frustrating lock out, the team completely pissing me off, spezza going down, Cowen with season ending surgery, now Karlsson I'm loosing my ****ing patience with this ****. I gotta step back and just be casual. That's what I'm doing I shouldn't be this worked up.

He won't be the same.

So then Cowen won't be the same after his injury recoveries... Or Donovan Bailey would never sprint again after rupturing his achilles... ********, IT WILL BE FINE. Heal it properly, do all the necessary stretching and rehabilitation exercises to strengthen and he will be just fine.

The injury was bad enough....

The wimpy response by the Senators, ever worse.

Yeah, it's just a coincidence that most Pens fans today never saw mario play and only came onboard afterdrafting Crosby.

You do realise that we get to see Pens games on tv up here, right? And we saw a half empty arena for years after Mario retired - both for the first and second time. Don't try to BS us with pimped up freebie numbers a la Phoenix.

Yeah, we know having a new arena with luxury boxes helps...but you definitely did not have a big fanbase before #87.

Dude Achilles isn't a joke. Right up there with ACL injuries.

Odds are against hiom ever being the same. So depressing.

And I just can't get past that stomping motion. I don't think he meant to cut his achilies, obvioiusly, but that was a tremendously reckless play andI think he meant to give him a little kick there. As soon as he was *****ing about the high shot I said he'd do something for retribution.

I just hope EK is able to come back 100%, even if the odds are against it.

Also, guess I should start getting to more Mooseheads games...

You're right, it depends on the degree of the injury and no one on these boards has a clue.

That's the only hope we have right now.

I'm hoping it isn't severe (obviously)...but if it's a complete tear....damn, the odds on being 100% after that aren't that great.

Blah....that there really hasn't been anyone that wows me in this draft, either.
