Prime with an option to pay $10 extra to watch all NHL and including blackouts and no ads. That I would pay over Sportsnet+

One thing I really wish they would do is like what they had a couple winter olympics ago...where they had a feed of curling without the has beens and never will bes offering of their meaningless commentary. It was cool just having the on ice sound and hearing the players and the game.

THAT would be worth $10.

Side note: Is this going to be the best picture quality an Oilers game has ever had? If so....super stoked to see a true 4K game on the projector.

People don’t have Amazon prime? That’s crazy to me.

I personally don't...

With the game being on Prime tonight, are we out of luck if we don't watch in real-time? Or can we start the game late and still watch from the beginning?

Can anybody remember the last Oiler game that wasn’t available on regular tv? I can’t. Probably have to go back to the days of the $8 pay-per-views and I can’t remember off the top of my head exactly when that was.
With wifi, there is free to view I have been a long-term subscriber :naughty:

In this day and age, it doesn't even need to be a second feed, just an alternate audio stream if viewing through any of the streaming services.

Looking for a concrete answer here as well. I checked previous weeks and it doesn't appear that you can watch it after it is completed. But some seem to suggest there's an option to start from the beginning if tuning in while it is in progress. I'm hoping so as I'm often not able to get settled in front of the tv by 6:30.

I'm basically there already unfortunately.

Have Sportsnet+ Premium to watch out of market games, but still have cable despite a cord cutting attempt. The SN streams are ~30 seconds behind cable, so I was tired of getting hit with text messages from people anytime anything happened before I saw it. Also had one big game where buffering was randomly an issue, so that was enough for me.

Basically paying a cable tax because the streams aren't quite there yet.
I pay for Telus Basic plus sports package and then $7 for IPTV. Get thousands of channels on the IPTV, including every sports channel I can think of. Add in Junior and AHL games

Time to cut the cord old folks.
Help an old guy out with cutting the cord. Do all of these streaming services have a PVR built-in? Or even just pause and skip functionality? Or do you use an external PVR of some sort? Or do you just watch ads, Kelly Hrudey, and betting updates like a chump? That last one and the fact that I'm into sports covered by multiple networks is what makes cable worth it to me but I'm totally open to a better way.

Pretty much where I'm at. tried the cord cutting, but got tired of the SN app crapping out and having issues, plus the delay as you mentioned. Every other app I have works great on my TV, no buffering, etc, issues (DAZN. etc), so must be an issue with the SN app. I know it's not just me that has issues with it, as many friends have commented they have issues as well. I just have basic cable and the sports package during the season, then cancel it for months when there is no hockey.

Depends what service and what device.

I think Sportsnet is full DVR functionality on most if not all devices and in my opinion has been working pretty solidly for awhile now with few issues other than the annoying random logout where you need to re-login. Even though I still have cable, I often watch games where I'm starting late through this app instead of PVR as I like the 10 second skip or rewind option better than 30 seconds and using siri to skip 18 minutes in one quick command to miss intermission is nice when you are far behind.

TSN on Apple TV sucks and only lets you watch live or on demand programs, but I think some devices you can at least restart. I know you can restart watching TSN through the Telus App but can't skip forward if doing so, and maybe that's the case through other apps like Prime as well (unsure).

Not sure I have a lot of confidence about the outcome of the game tonight.
Just seems to a lot of stuff that's going to be hard to overcome.

1. Back to Back.
2. Coming off the road, first game at home. I'm pretty sure historically these games are pretty rough.
3. New Jersey is good and they've been sitting here chewing over a disappointing game Friday.

Nice to see Leon and Hyman leading the charge offensively. They're really going to need some help though. Hoping we see someone else step up tonight from the second or third line.

I cut the cord about 2-3 years ago and definitely can say that cable/satellite is still the “better way”.

All games immediately available, PVR, no buffering, latency issues. It’s total convenience. But it’s the cost that got to me. In order to get what you want to watch you gotta buy all the other crap channels and services . I was paying 200 bucks a month to Shaw for my satellite service, plus internet for household use.

I use a combination of legit and some not so legit methods to watch sports now (and all TV for that matter). I have Prime, ESPN+ apps when I’m in the USA, I also get nearly 80 OTA fully digital tv channels here in PHX and I also use a “special” fire stick and a VPN that helps when back in Canada. I dont ever miss a game that I want to watch. If you haven’t noticed cable is one stop shopping, to do otherwise means jumping through a lot of hoops. And the quality isn’t always as good as the internet capability and server capabilities of some of these other options dictates how smooth the watch goes.

But all in all, I pay 12 bucks for ESPN+ monthly for about 6 months, I already had Prime (i also have a Netflix sub). So my $$ to watch is way less than cable/sat. In the summer when I’m back in Canada I watch way less TV so not having the over the air channels that I get in Phx is no big deal.

Not always convenient but I was tired of Shaw gouging me.

I guess the good news with playing Skinner yesterday is that I think Pickards mobility might be more required for the Devils.

Not sure what to expect in this one but it generally annoys me when the home ice team is b2b against a well rested team. Not much of an advantage. Calgary/Edmonton game should of been on Saturday.

Hopefully the boys find a way tonight.
We got this. Maybe
