Of course the media can report that and he can say he disagrees, which doesn't constitute lashing out.
Also, when athletes get past their prime, they are almost always going to be the last to accept that they can't do what they used to, which is completely understandable if we are being honest. This isn't something that's unique to Seabs, which is why I don't view it as anything to make a big deal of. Father time is undefeated. At some point Kane will be asked similar questions and have similar responses. Hopefully his contract will be more in line with his abilities at that point than with Seabs now. But to me that's where all this comes from. Pent up frustration and anger (understandable) over Seabs play and contract. What he actually said wasn't a big deal.
Head west on I-90, portions toll.
I wonder if we'll get an honest assessment of Gilbert around here. He had a few good moments in pre-season but he had more bad. Gus as well had better get his **** together. I know you guys won't listen. It's not in fashion - but Seabs has never been a speedster and it was never a part of his game. He still makes a lot of good plays on defence and can contribute offensively but unfortunately, most of the good is overlooked.

Is Seabs implying he may want a trade?![]()
Even if they did write about his speed and age, they wouldnt be wrong. He just cant accept he isnt an NHL level player anymore."I think I've been playing good."
"I feel like I'm skating better."
"I feel like I've got a lot to offer this team."
"I don't think I need rest"
"I think I feel great. I'm 34."
So I read through the entire conversation a couple times now, from a couple sources, and not once did he mention he needs to be better, or work harder? Not once did he take any responsibility for being scratched? Basically just in denial. I didn't understand the quote about "you guys seem to want to write about my age and my speed". I mean, who in the Chicago media has done this??

So the question now is, does Seabrook accept that he needs to get better, and actually work harder to get back in the lineup, and take this like a professional? Or does he pout, thinking his play is perfectly fine?

wasn't that question asked to him and he said something like "he never was told anything like that"....I could have sworn he said nothing was ever even discussed with him...at all.We could only hope. Didn't the Hawks ask him if he would be willing to waive his NMC last season, and he said no?

After Seabrook denied the report John Dietz of The Daily Herald reached out for a response from Friedman, who stood by what he reported.
“I understand, at least once this season, there was a conversation between team, player, and agent about his future in Chicago. That’s all I can really say. At some point this season, it happened.”
