Assuming cap didn't count.. you could win a Stanley Cup with current former London Knights in the NHL... Knights produce first rounders every year... I can't think of a more successful Junior program in that regard....

Hunter(s) are phenomenal coaches/GMs/Builders... especially in Junior hockey:

Tavares, Kadri, Kane, Tkachuk, McMichael, Dvorak, Carlson etc.
They’ve got deep pockets, their success is tied to a significant financial advantage.

Russian team for 2022 is looking very scary.. And the rumour is 2004 2005 born kidd should be the best since bure mogilny fedorov days..

Canadian fans not to happy

I’d be concerned about the Canadian fan that is happy.

Just curious, who’s the last projected 2nd overall player to play as “meh” as Byfield has this tournament?

Went back over 10 years and the only one I found was Patrick who didn't go. But there's games to play. I don't know how many of those player didn't do anything against the best 2 teams in their pool.

One bad game doesn't end the tournament. One bad game doesn't mean these players are ruined. Losing one player, even Lafreniere, doesn't mean there's no hope. Losing one game doesn't mean the coach or national team are terrible. Everything can still be fine.

Canadian fans always lose their minds the first time Canada loses. The Canadian government should hand out little packets of Xanax or something.

While Canadian fans do tend to get over emotional when it comes to this tournament I think it is safe to say that if they lose Lafreniere they won’t be bringing home a medal.

You mean the richest team in the CHL which illegally recruits good players with under the table payments?

It’s pretty disappointing that we put together a World Junior team that can’t handle the loss of one guy.

As it stands right now this will be the most lopsided loss in TC history at this tournament.

I’m just trying to remember the last time they were shutout? Maybe in ‘98 when the lost 4-0 to Sweden?

Interesting to see how the US handles Russia. Even though I'm rooting for Canada, the US team we beat earlier will not be the team Russia plays tomorrow.

How many years was that then?

Lmao what’s is your angle here? Canada has proven multiple times it can win on any continent. Juniors and men, have you forgotten the 2007 and 2008 World Juniors or 2014 Sochi and the men’s 2015 and 2016 IIHF tournaments already? Amongst many more.

Salt is unreal here
