Very surprised at the lack of compete and the lack of skill shown by Canada in this game.

Full credit to Russia though. They have played great- skilled, smart, physical.

Have to give it up to the coaching too - they were extremely well prepared.

I guess players only meetings work better than expected on the junior level.
Maybe Canada should have one tomorrow as well...

Lmao what’s is your angle here? Canada has proven multiple times it can win on any continent. Juniors and men, have you forgotten the 2007 and 2008 World Juniors or 2014 Sochi and the men’s 2015 and 2016 IIHF tournaments already? Amongst many more.

Not sure I’ve even seen a Canadian player get between the opposing hash marks in the 3rd, let alone do it with the puck. Pretty impressive effort for sure.

The commentator kept mentioning that this year they've prioritized mobility and offensive instinct instead of size like they did in the past years.

Assuming cap didn't count.. you could win a Stanley Cup with current former London Knights in the NHL... Knights produce first rounders every year... I can't think of a more successful Junior program in that regard....

Hunter(s) are phenomenal coaches/GMs/Builders... especially in Junior hockey:

Tavares, Kadri, Kane, Tkachuk, McMichael, Dvorak, Carlson etc.

Out of the guys listed 4 are one and dones and Tavares wasn’t developed by the Hunters. Kane was a loose cannon that the Hunters let do whatever he wanted on and off the ice. Carlson got free reign. They have done a great job but when you draft incredibly talent kids already that are rated to go high in the first round they’re just here to play out the year.
