In general, there are some cool Leafs fans to vibe with. Very knowledgable & respectable. And then there are the insufferable mouth breather Leaf fans, who couldnt fight their way out of wet paperbags, spewing nonsense as usual.

Their trauma, is a real thing I suppose.
So true. Used to hang some with a dude from Toronto and his brother, both massive Leafs fans. Coolest cats ever. Like seriously two of the nicest and most chill people I've ever come across. They were both DJs for a musician named Nelly Furtado (she's also a gem of a person) and were on tour a lot back in the day. They somehow still managed to keep up with the Leafs and the NHL as well as anyone. Knew their hockey inside and out.

If regular season means nothing why you watching and posting

Love Swayman like a family dog but in both game 7’s he lost against Carolina and Florida he gave up a goal you can’t

Ullmark no trade and Grzelcyk UFA isn’t getting you Lindholm

They stay healthy they should just get these new rookies and additions feeling at home and assess after New Years

So you’d rather go with the older goalie who has been so utterly garbage in the playoffs that he hasn’t even been able to make it to a game 7?

Not swaymans fault Ullmark has started him off in an 0-2 hole and came in cold in the other one after not playing for 3 weeks.

But sure let’s blame swayman for that one.

I thought Marchand got his stick in there, but 3 different experienced referees thought it was just two guys tangled up so I don’t think it’s a “homer” view to agree with them.
agreed, I do see how some fans will view this, with Marchand`s history with a raised eyebrow but I felt in real time it was a hockey play where stick gets tangled in the legs, happens all the time in the game, McAuley was right on the wall watching the whole thing unfold and didn`t make a call

I was actually shocked he didn`t, not because I thought it was a penalty but because I think Marchand gets some penalties based solely on his rep just as opponents don`t get penalized at times due to his rep

Gonna need to up our game around here, way more many laffs on the Leafs boards.
so true, for the best laughs, read the "we are so soft" thread, it`s classic

I never post on opponents pages but man are they fun to read

Lets all admit what's going on here, great goaltending makes teams and coaches look better.
Bad goaltending makes great teams and coaches seem worse.
The Bruins have 2 great goaltenders.
They deserve credit for playing better than most people thought they would, but with average goaltending there's no way they go 9-0-1.

Agreed. If the team was worse there record would also be worse.

I call it as I see it and that Brad thing was not intent to injure. The overreaction on the Leaf Board is disturbing. They are calling for injury to Brad and Pasta. I have lost a lot of respect for those posters. There are more wacky posters than I remember. I don't know how those post are allowed as calling for injury is not allowed here.

I agreed with the Mac 4 games but this Brad thing is crazy.
I am assuming most Leaf fans were watching the game on SN. I hold SN partially responsible for stoking the outrage. Straight into intermission they were talking about how Brad should be suspended and what a dirty play it was. It was even over-the-top for the usual Leafs homers on SN. Funny how people get so incensed at Jack for being a homer. Try watching Leafs games on SN if you want to see homerism at its finest.

Fantastically fun game to watch. Just a Leaf fan saying ty for a great game from the B's, that's the best game I have watched among any teams this season, really good. Best of luck and hopefully the next one is a good as this one.
Was a good game. When the leafs turn on the gas man can that offense cook. Just can't seem to regulate the flame.

Find Lily a Rabbit's foot or something. 3 injuries in 3 games is beyond coincidence, it's a sign or something.
I know Keefe said "significant" time for him but any more on what specifically the issue is? High Ankle?

Knies is a keeper. Enjoy watching him play this season.

What's the over-under on Keefe still being there when Liljigren makes it back?

It's simply ridiculous. Unprofessional as it gets.

Yeh love Bertuzzi, too bad he's on that mickey mouse team
Same feelings here. Was hoping if not the Bs then he'd at least go to a team I don't dislike so much. Been a fan of his since his days in Detroit. Was even a fan of his uncle. Still have a Bertuzzi Canucks sweater.

Would be great if the Bs could bring him back. Something clicked here for him. I get that he has defensive shortcomings, but those are masked pretty easily by Monty's system and two ridiculous goalies. Most he's smiled all season was pre-game comments talking about Marchy, then laughing from the bench at Marchy and Reaves interaction. He should be a B.

Great win. Pleasantly surprised by the result. I thought we were gonna take an L in this one.

I thought Toronto was the better team over the first 2 periods, but Swayman kept us in the game. I REALLY love how we closed out that 3rd period. We had them on their heels for the last 10min.

Lindholm was a warrior. Don't know how many minutes he ended up playing but I know it was a ton. Carlo was rock solid as well. Lohrei was all over the place (for good and bad) but you can definitely see the skillset. The mental part will come with more games. Spoon and Mitch didn't hurt us, which is all you can ask for.

Overall we stuck to the formula: Keep the opposition to 2 goals or less and score just enough to get the job done.

Dumb question, and probably just the fan boy in me, but is there any plausible scenario that bert is available at the tdl and we grab him? That dude has black and gold coursing through his dna . We need the Bert/zacha/pasta line again.
Zero chance. Maybe even less than zero. TOR and BOS will def not be trade partners at the deadline.

@Dueling Banjos scenario a post or two above is the most likely way Bert comes back.

I doubt he`ll be available but if he is, not a chance do I see a trade between the Leafs and B`s happening

Good thing we have great goaltending.
It’s incredible how supportive they clearly are to each other

Ullmark is so appreciative and joyful - he’s top 3 goalies on the planet from my view

Swayman has combined talent and attitude with a great partner and high end defense

I’m Sweeney I’m riding these boys till the end of Ullmark current contract and hopefully 3 more years after

There is one true certainty- they work together

Recent goalie issue before a game played rated Boston goalie position 1 in hockey

Unlikely, but I can see them wanting Gryz if Lohrei takes his job from him. A third team would be needed to make money work as both teams need cap space but it's not impossible.

Improbable, yes.

even better news, Bussi in the pipeline, the B`s should be good between the pipes for years to come

Exactly right. Goaltending is the strength of this team and its the reason we are 9-0-1. It would be absolute insanity to mess with that right now...

I would fall over in a state of shock if DS tried to help TOR out this season defensively by putting Gryz on their team.

Like you said, I just call it as I see it. For once #63 was not guilty of a suspension worthy hit. Hopefully he continues to stay out of trouble, Bs need their captain playing not sitting in the press box.
I think he will be fine in spite of the unfair calls (at times) and even more so are the lack of calls when Brad gets tripped. punched and more.

So far, I think he is a fine captain!
